Private equity firm buys Squarespace for $6.9 billion.

As part of the deal with the private equity firm Permira, Squarespace agreed to become a private company again. The website-building platform went public in 2021, but CNBC reports Squarespace struggled to perform well in the stock market. CEO Anthony Casalena said it wasn’t “the most fun time to be a public tech company” on Decoder last year.
