Amazon Prime Day 2020 is upon us, beginning at 12AM PT / 3AM ET Tuesday, October 13th, and lasting through 12AM PT / 3AM ET Wednesday, October 14th. You know the drill: Amazon is discounting a bunch of products, including tech, for its annual Prime Day that’s exclusive to people who are signed up for Amazon Prime. It usually takes place in July, but the global pandemic is the likely culprit as to why it was pushed to October.

Whether you’re just browsing the wares or hoping to get all of your holiday shopping done before Black Friday and Cyber Monday come around, we’ve gone deep on the deals to provide the best offers available. You’ll find some of the lowest prices on gaming accessories, 4K televisions with OLED panels, chargers, laptops, and much more. Additionally, we’ve covered other non-Amazon retailers that are having deals you should know about. You can find our growing list of coverage below, and follow @VergeDeals on Twitter to keep up with the latest deals as they become available.

The dust has settled following two days of Amazon Prime Day 2020 sales. Most of the deals are finished, and prices are for the most part back to their normal rates. The next big opportunity to save big will come during Black Friday after Thanksgiving, in just over a month.

But, if you didn’t get everything you wanted out of Prime Day 2020, there are still a handful of good deals happening. Some are at Amazon, and some are happening elsewhere at retailers like Walmart and Best Buy. You won’t need a Prime membership to reap the savings of the deals still happening. Consider this the last hurrah of Prime Day 2020.

Sony’s A8G 65-inch OLED TV is just $1,500 right now

    Sony Bravia 65-inch OLED TV
    Sony Bravia 65-inch OLED TV
This 65-inch A8G OLED TV is $1,500 for a limited time at Amazon

We’re in the final day of Prime Day 2020, and there are some stellar Lightning Deals happening. One that’s happening right now is on Sony’s 65-inch A8G OLED 4K television. Normally $1,998, it’s down to $1,500 for a limited time. This deal is set to last until 5PM ET today, but I have my doubts it will remain in stock for that long.

$1,500 is a good price for a 55-inch OLED TV, so getting a bigger size for that amount is a steal. And in terms of specs, the A8G is solid. It can be mounted to a wall, and has it Android TV with Cast built-in. In terms of ports, it has four HDMI ports with ARC and CEC support to let the TV work better with your other entertainment devices. Two of those ports support HDMI 2.0.

Razer’s Blade 15 Advanced gaming laptop got a hefty $500 discount for Prime Day 2020, and yesterday Razer quietly knocked an additional $100 off today that brings it down to a more reasonable $2,000 until the end of the day. This deal is now over, but we’ve collected a few of the best Prime Day deals that you can still get.

Better yet, it’s for a model that’s close in the specs department to the one that I just reviewed, containing an eight-core Intel Core i7-10875H CPU, the Nvidia RTX 2070 Super Max-Q graphics chip, 16GB of RAM, a 512GB PCIe SSD and a 300Hz refresh rate 1080p display. This model is $2,600 right now at Razer’s store, but with a Prime membership your price is $600 less. This laptop will also get you a download code for Marvel’s Avengers.

There are a few hours left before Prime Day 2020 wraps up, but there are still a bunch of deals available to take advantage of. If you are looking to beef up your desktop storage, Western Digital’s 12TB desktop hard drive is on sale for just $175 at Amazon, Best Buy, B&H Photo, and Newegg. Normally, this product will set you back $250 or more, so if you need an excuse to add a lot more space to your computer, this is not a bad option. The product is pre-formatted with NTFS use with Windows computers, but you can reformat it if you are a macOS user looking for a Time Machine drive option.

Western Digital’s 12TB Elements desktop hard drive connects via USB but still requires a power cable to function (included with the purchase) and features speedy desktop storage transfers with rates up to 5GB per second in USB 3.0 mode or 480MB per second in USB 2.0 mode. (Note that Best Buy’s version is branded “easystore,” while the others are “WD Elements.” They are the same drives inside, however.)

Acer’s 27-inch 4K 144Hz gaming monitor with G-Sync support was cheaper than ever today (gone!)

Photo by Amelia Holowaty Krales / The Verge

The Lightning Deal for Acer’s 27-inch 4K Predator gaming monitor at Amazon lasted about 10 seconds. For a brief flash of time, it dropped from its usual $1,200 price to $720. The deal was supposed to last until tonight 11:45PM PT / 2:45AM ET, but that clearly didn’t happen. This monitor has swung down to $900 a few times, but this was the best deal yet.

Here are the specs that matter: it’s an 4K IPS panel with a 120Hz refresh rate (can be overclocked to 144Hz) and G-Sync support to take full advantage of your new RTX 3080 or 3090’s graphical power, if you were lucky enough to get one. This monitor (model XB273K Sbmiprzx) supports VESA DisplayHDR 400 and has a 4ms response time. In terms of video inputs, it has one HDMI 2.0 and one DisplayPort 1.4. It’s easy to confuse this monitor with the extremely similar $830 Gpbmiipprzx model (catchy, yeah?) that has a slightly faster response time and more video inputs. Normally, the Gpbmiipprzx model would be the better buy, but with this sale, you can get almost the same thing for $110 less.

Best Prime Day 2020 deals on gaming

Photo by Amelia Holowaty Krales / The Verge

Prime Day 2020 may have ended but there’s still a few deals you can take advantage of in the gaming category. Whether you are ready for some new entertainment, are in the market for a gaming mouse, or are looking for some extra storage for your console, here are some of the best gaming deals Amazon is offering during its two-day event.

You probably won’t find any deals on next-gen gaming consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X / S. But there will likely be a ton of discounts on their predecessors, the PS4 and Xbox One. And if you are looking to upgrade your TV for your next-gen console, Amazon also has a few TVs worth checking out.

The second and final day of Prime Day 2020 is here, but there are still a ton of deals to take advantage of for the next several hours, including this fantastic deal on Sony’s new WH-1000XM4 wireless over-ear headphones. Normally, these headphones cost $350, but you can buy a pair for just $298. Even better? Both Amazon and Best Buy will give you a $25 gift card to its website when you purchase these headphones. B&H Photo is also price matching the headphones, but unfortunately it does not include the gift card sweetener like Amazon and Best Buy. The price is available for both color options (black and silver); its also available in midnight blue, but its an exclusive color available only at Best Buy.

Sony originally released these headphones in August. When stacked up against its predecessor, the WH-1000XM3, the newer model shares a similar design but allows users the ability to pair two devices via Bluetooth simultaneously. My colleague, Chris Welch, noted in his review that the WH-1000XM4s have improved mic performance, which should make the audio output on calls clearer.

Amazon Prime Day 2020 has brought several good deals on headphones of all kinds, including Sony’s new WH-1000XM4 wireless over-ear model that has some of the best noise cancellation on the market. That particular set of headphones usually costs $350 and hasn’t seen as big of a price drop as it has today at Amazon. If you have a Prime membership, you can pick up a set for $298, and it will come with a $25 Amazon gift card with purchase. Best Buy is offering the same price, and you’ll get a gift card to that store with the purchase.

Compared to the older 1000XM3s, this new model features the ability to pair two devices simultaneously via Bluetooth, and its updated mics should make calls clearer, according to my colleague Chris Welch’s review.

If you are looking for a new Windows laptop or Chromebook, whether it’s for school, video meetings with friends, or even for your new work from home setup, you might want to consider taking a peek at the post-Prime Day sales. The online retail giant (along with a few of its competitors) has a bunch of laptops on sale that should fit most budgets.

Amazon has slashed the prices on laptops from several manufacturers, including Acer, Asus, Razer, and Samsung. Prices on these products will vary depending on numerous options, such as specs, configuration, and screen size. But fortunately, most of the better laptop deals we’ve found won’t burn a major hole in your wallet.

JBL’s portable Bluetooth speaker is just $20 for Prime Day

    Amazon

We’re closing in on the end of Prime Day 2020, but there are still plenty of good deals going live on Amazon. Starting now, you can buy JBL’s highly rated Go 2 speaker for just $20. This speaker is usually $39.95, which means you’re saving $19.95. This price is available for the black, red, and blue options (but only black is currently in stock).

The newer item in this line, the JBL Go 3, also costs $39.95. That means the Go 2 isn’t a great buy at that price anymore, but it’s definitely worth a look with this discount tacked on (if you’re willing to consider an older model).

The best Kindle and Echo deals you can get during Prime Day 2020

Photo by Dan Seifert / The Verge

Amazon Prime Day 2020 is here, and the retailer has slashed the prices across a slew of items and categories, including Amazon’s own devices. Whether you are looking for a Fire tablet to read ebooks, a Ring device to protect your home, or you simply want to add an Alexa device to a part of your house, here are the best deals on Amazon’s own tech.

A standout deal includes the third-gen Echo Device, which is the lowest it has ever been previously. In addition, a lot of the Echo and smart home deals allow you to add an Amazon smart plug or other accessories for just $5 more. Of course, if you are not a fan of the older Echo Dot design, you can also preorder this year’s Echo Dot model, which features a spherical design with a two-pack costing $80 on Amazon right now.

Apple’s AirPods Pro are cheaper than ever today at Woot

Photo by Amelia Holowaty Krales / The Verge

Woot’s excellent pre-Prime Day 2020 deal on the Apple AirPods Pro wireless earbuds is over. All of the stock is sold out, apparently. They were $190, which was the best price we’ve seen yet. This model usually costs $250, and Woot says this discount will last all day, or until it sells out.

If you’re still looking for an AirPods deal, Amazon is selling the second-generation model with a wired charging case for $115 — the lowest price we’ve seen so far. Find this deal and many more in the link below.

Best Buy misreads calendar, thinks Black Friday starts next Tuesday

    Best Buy

Best Buy has announced that it will be kicking off its Black Friday deals not on the Friday following Thanksgiving in the US, but next Tuesday, October 13th. This two-day deal fest will last through October 14th.

Of course, it’s no coincidence that this window of time matches when Amazon’s Prime Day 2020 takes place. Best Buy usually runs anti-Prime Day deals each year, though this year’s Prime Day is different since it’s happening so close to the other big shopping holidays, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, instead of in the middle of the summer. So here we are, writing about “Black Friday” deals in October.

More early Prime Day 2020 deals have kicked off on Amazon

Photo by Dan Seifert / The Verge

Amazon shared with us that more Prime Day 2020 deals would start on October 6th, and that’s today. Starting now, you can save on more TVs and other smart home products, if you’re in the market for those. Keep in mind, though, that you’ll need to be signed in with a Prime account to be able to see some of the price drops take place. One of the newly discounted devices is the Amazon Echo Show 5 smart display, which is $45 instead of $90 — a full 50 percent price drop.

The Echo Show 5 is Amazon’s smallest smart display, though it’s loaded with the same features you’ll find on the bigger Echo Show 8. If you want a small, relatively unobtrusive display that you can use to watch movies or look through your Blink or Ring smart home cameras, this is a solid (and now, affordable) option.

You can get big discounts on the new ball-shaped Amazon Echo and Echo Dot

Yesterday, Amazon announced that Prime Day 2020 is locked for October 13th and 14th. It’s usually in July, but the coronavirus pushed it back, now next-door neighbors to other shopping holidays like Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Some early deals have already been released ahead of the big day, and even more are likely to trickle out before then, as they have today.

The new, ball-shaped Amazon Echo (fourth gen) that was unveiled last week is discounted if you purchase them in a two-pack. Normally $100 per smart speaker, you can load up on two for $170 ($30 off) when you checkout and use the offer code ECHO2PK. This product won’t release until October 22nd, but it’s nice to save some money on this tech before it even comes out.

Amazon’s Prime Day kicks off on October 13th

Illustration by Alex Castro / The Verge

Prime Day, Amazon’s annual deals extravaganza, will run from October 13th-14th, the company announced today. Amazon says the two-day shopping event will feature “over one million deals across every category,” including brands like Panasonic, Roborock, Keurig, Under Armour, Coleman, Adidas, Lacoste, Marvel, Ticwatch, and more.

Amazon is aiming to support small businesses on its platform by incentivizing customers to buy from them in the run-up to Prime Day. Starting today until October 12th, Prime members will receive a $10 credit usable on Prime Day by spending $10 at certain small businesses on Amazon. The company is also committing to spending more than $100 million to promote small business through Prime Day and the holiday season.
