Nothing has confirmed that its next phone will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro processor, a custom version of the Dimensity 7200 made specifically for the device. The announcement comes on the same day SmartPrix and OnLeaks published a series of unofficial renders of the Phone 2A showing its potential design. Other rumored specs include dual 50-megapixel cameras, and an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.

As well as bringing its currently China-exclusive 14 smartphone to a global audience, Xiaomi is announcing a completely new device at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona later this week. CEO Lei Jun has teased the design of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra phone on X, and announced its telephoto camera specs. It’ll also be Xiaomi’s latest device to use a massive 1-inch-type sensor for its main camera.
Leaker Majin Bu has shared an image of what they claim is the new camera module on the iPhone 16. This design appears to stack the camera sensors vertically, similar to the module on the iPhone 12. The leak lines up with some other recent rumors, too, which also indicate a shift away from the diagonal camera placement we’ve seen on the last few iPhones.

After tinkering with the beta version of Google Messages, TheSpAndroid found that the upcoming edit option could surface as a pencil icon that appears when you tap and hold a message. You’ll get the option to edit your text from there, but it seems it will only work if you’ve sent the message within the past 30 minutes.
It’s still early though, so we don’t know when Google will actually start rolling the feature out, or if it’ll make any other tweaks in the meantime.

Time for Samsung and Google to make some room in the midrange.
A smartphone without apps — that’s the idea behind a device Brain.ai and Deutsche Telekom plan to announce at Mobile World Congress. Brain.ai is the startup behind an iOS app called Natural that uses AI to create a central interface for various shopping, travel, and food delivery apps. This latest concept seems similar, except it’s a whole phone. Ambitious! We’ll look out for it at MWC.
In an unusual turn of events, SmartPrix and leaker OnLeaks have distanced themselves from last week’s Phone 2A design leak. Fellow leaker Evan Blass raised some concerns with its sourcing, and SmartPrix has admitted that it appears to have been based on a previous, unreleased phone design. “Until we get further information [...] consider the previous render inaccurate,” SmartPrix writes. Does this mean this earlier design is the accurate one?
