SCOTUS sends the FTC’s lone Democrat home again.

Chief Justice John Roberts granted an administrative stay preventing Democratic Commissioner Rebecca Kelly Slaughter from resuming her work during an appeal of a decision that reversed her firing. Slaughter briefly returned to the office for the second time since her firing after the appeals court lifted an earlier stay.

At least a dozen people were reportedly killed during protests of Nepal’s social media ban.

Another 200 or more were injured during demonstrations, The New York Times reports based on local news accounts. Police used rubber bullets and water cannons to disperse protesters who occupied a security building, witnesses told The Times. Nepal blocked 26 social media platforms that did not register with the government.

The fight for the noncompete ban is over.

The Federal Trade Commission is dropping its legal battle for the noncompete ban passed under former Democratic Chair Lina Khan. It was already blocked by a court, and Republican Chair Andrew Ferguson had originally opposed it as unlawful. He now proposes more targeted steps to eliminate illegal noncompete agreements.
