The FTC bans another data broker from selling your location data.

Not only did InMarket Media sell precise location data without asking users for their consent, the data broker didn’t inform the third-party apps using its SDK, the FTC found.

The company’s shopping apps CheckPoints and ListEase requested user location to dole out things like rewards points or reminders — but also secretly used the data for targeted ads.

The regulator recently issued a similar ban on Outlogic.

Here’s Fruit Ninja on the Vision Pro.

In Super Fruit Ninja, you’ll use your hands to chop up fruit, according to a writeup on Apple’s website. I can see how it might be fun, but I don’t know if it will be $3,499 fun — especially when I can still just play Fruit Ninja on my phone.

Pornhub is taking actor verification a lot more seriously.

404Media looks at how the site has escalated its verification policy after it was found to be hosting sexual assault videos:

Before this new policy, performers were required to keep records, including IDs and release agreements, of anyone else who appeared in their content. As of last month, performers were required to submit those IDs for approval by the platform before uploading a video featuring a new co-performer. Next week’s policy change adds proof of consent to those requirements.

How much do I have to pay to put my cat on the Sphere?

If the Las Vegas Sphere just pivots to displaying pet photos, it’ll be the best piece of public infrastructure ever built. Put Jeeves on the Sphere! (Also: this is a fine excuse to put your cats in the comments, thanks in advance.)

Instagram is working to expand HDR photo support to more devices.

Samsung announced yesterday that its new Galaxy S24 would become the first device to be able to post and view photos in HDR on Instagram. But this feature may be arriving on more devices soon, according to Meta spokesperson Cullen Heaney:

Samsung is the first manufacturer we’ve worked with to make this feature available, meaning SG24 users are the first to be able to post and view HDR photos in Feed. We are working with additional Android partners (and iOS) to expand the availability of the feature (and thus ability to view in HDR as well).
