Calibri gets the bad news.

Judging by the comments on last week’s post, everyone is adjusting to the new default font for the Microsoft Office apps either well, terribly, or somewhere in between.

For people who like font-related puns, here’s another video to watch, and if you can’t stand Aptos as the Microsoft 365 standard-bearer, this support page has the details on how to change it.

Asus’ dual-screen laptop has arrived.

Following its reveal at CES earlier this month, Asus has launched the absolutely ridiculous Zenbook Duo, which stacks one 14-inch display atop the other, giving you a whole 19.8 inches of screen along with a detachable keyboard. It’s on sale now for $1,499.99.

RIP ad-free Prime Video.

It’s official: ads have infiltrated my Amazon Prime Video account. I’ll miss watching The Boys and Invincible without any interruptions, but I’m still not convinced I need to pay an extra $2.99 per month just to regain that privilege.

Microsoft closed the loophole in its AI image generator that could create explicit images of celebrities like Taylor Swift.

After graphic AI-generated images of Taylor Swift became a trending topic on X, 404 Media reported on people creating and trading similar pictures created using Microsoft’s Designer AI image generator. By altering prompts, they were able to get around simple name blocks.

After CEO Satya Nadella said last week that guardrails are “our responsibility,” 404 Media reports the loopholes have been closed. Sarah Bird, a Responsible AI Engineering Lead at Microsoft confirmed the changes, saying:

We are committed to providing a safe and respectful experience for everyone. We are continuing to investigate these images and have strengthened our existing safety systems to further prevent our services from being misused to help generate images like them.

Blizzard has a new president.

Following a wave of layoffs and the surprise departure of president Mike Ybarra, Blizzard has appointed Johanna Faries to head up the game developer.

Faries worked for the NFL for over a decade before joining Activision in 2018 as a Call of Duty esports commissioner. She’s currently a Call of Duty general manager and will start her new role on February 5th.

That ‘AI-generated’ George Carlin special was actually made by a very human clout-chaser.

A spokesperson for Dudesy, the media company behind the fake special currently being sued by Carlin’s estate, has told The New York Times that the show was “completely written” by podcast host Chad Kultgen.

The “Dudesy AI” they claimed was behind the special is actually a “fictional podcast character,” seemingly created to fraudulently ride on all the attention real generative AI products are receiving.

Check out our updated coverage on the lawsuit below.
