Samsung’s One UI 7 looks rather iOS-y.

The upcoming redesign teased in a (seemingly premature) video found on Samsung’s Spanish website shows off smoother animations and a revamped Quick Panel, with quick settings now packed in bubbles — just like on iOS. The pill-shaped live activities feature also shares some similarities with Apple’s Dynamic Island.

Big-ass batteries for your big-ass battery.

You can now expand DJI’s Power 1000 solar generator that I reviewed with up to five of these new $1,169 2kWh Power Expansion Battery 2000 units daisy-chained together over DJI’s proprietary SDC port, for a maximum capacity of 11kWh. Add solar and you can produce a steady 2400W of AC output indefinitely, or at least until you master a rosetta pattern in your latte art.

Defying Wicked’s anti-piracy policy.

Fans of the new musical keep uploading photos and minutes-long clips — including the conclusion — from their screenings to social platforms like X and TikTok. It’s a growing trend that Hollywood is struggling (or doesn’t care) to address, with lawyers focusing on removing fully pirated movies instead of playing whack-a-mole with clips.

One anonymous movie executive told Variety:

“Something has happened post-pandemic where movie theater behavior has really changed. They have a different relationship with the material, it’s all just content to them.”

I guess I’m buying another calculator watch.

Ahead of Pac-Man’s 45th anniversary next year, Casio is launching a collection of four retro digital watches featuring the yellow dot chaser. The standouts include a yellow calculator watch with an inverted screen and a model that’s expected to have Bluetooth connectivity and step tracking. Pricing isn’t known, but availability is expected in December — at least in Japan.

Let a Gundam protect your AirPods Pro.

Following its collaboration with Neon Genesis Evangelion last year, Casetify has announced a new anime collection featuring Gundam-themed cases and accessories. The standout is this $155 RX-78-2 Gundam head case for the AirPods Pro and AirPods Pro 2 that’s more expensive than what the latest version of the earbuds are currently selling for during Black Friday promotions.

Spend your holidays cozying up to NASA’s rocket engine fireplace.

Need something more intense than a burning log to help you relax this season? NASA now has its own festive fireplace featuring an eight hour loop of the burning RS-25 engines used for the launch of the Artemis I mission two years ago. The fireplace can be streamed on NASA Plus, or you can watch it on YouTube.

Casio’s ring watch is coming to the US for $120.

Through a new listing on the company’s US site, Casio has revealed that its 50th anniversary ring watch isn’t going to be exclusive to Japan. You can’t preorder it yet, but the site says the finger-worn watch, which has functions like a stopwatch and flashing alarms, is expected to be available in the US in December for $120.
