The company’s take on Android 15 looks like a major update, with a Dynamic Island-ish feature called the Now Bar and a redesigned camera app UI, along with refreshed widgets and app icons. It’s available starting today to Galaxy S24 owners via the Samsung Members app.

Jim Kjellin, MachineGames’ CTO, also explained to The Verge why hardware ray tracing is required even at minimum specs:
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle uses a technique called global illumination to light the environment and characters. Our engine MOTOR, used by MachineGames, uses hardware raytracing to calculate this. While this isn’t what players may typically think of as “ray tracing,” the compatible hardware is required to do this is in a performant, high fidelity way.

The developer of Stardew Valley (real name Eric Barone) shared a progress update about his next game, ConcernedApe’s Haunted Chocolatier, which he first announced more than three years ago. He’s still working on Haunted Chocolatier, but development was slowed down by the massive Stardew Valley 1.6 update.
“Regardless of dev blog timing, know that the game will eventually be finished and come out,” ConcernedApe says.

Polysoft has reverse-engineered the Mac Studio’s removable storage modules and plans to sell its own boards next year for about half the price Apple charges, following a successful Kickstarter.

Here at the The New York Times DealBook Summit, Google CEO Sundar Pichai was just asked if he has talked about the US government’s ongoing case to break up the company. He said his convos with the President-elect have had “nothing to do with ongoing litigation.”
“He is very focused on American competitiveness,” Pichai said of Trump when asked by Andrew Ross Sorkin. “There are real areas where I think he’s thinking about making a difference. Hopefully, we can make progress there.”
