Xbox developers can now put FSR 4 upscaling in their games.

The Xbox Series X and S are getting performance-enhancing AMD tech. The GitHub page shows devs can use either the new “Lite” model or the full-fat one, though “Full” has up to a 5.2ms performance hit on the weaker Xbox Series S. That’s enough to cut a 60fps game down to 45fps, not that gamers will see that: devs can cycle through each FSR mode and pick the best balance points between quality and speed.

Xbox VP Jason Ronald tweeted that devs can start testing it out today.

Apple now lets apps show subscription retention messages.

When you’re trying to cancel a subscription, apps can show messages that “remind subscribers of your subscription’s value as they decide whether to cancel,” and they can even include a “special offer,” Apple says.

I have a hunch these messages are going to be showing up in a lot of apps very soon.

YouTube is testing something called Tamba.

Android Authority found icons and references to “Tamba” in the latest YouTube APK. The code mentions followers, follow requests, direct messages, group chats, posts, and voice replies, suggesting it’s a social feature. But the “sandbox” label in the code suggests it could be a testing ground for experimental social features rather than a finished product.

Snap’s AR glasses are apparently on track to ship this fall.

CEO Evan Spiegel, discussing the Specs on today’s Q3 2026 earnings call: “We’re really looking forward to beginning to ship Specs later this fall.”

That’s not exactly news, as Snap has been talking about a fall target since it revealed the Specs in June. But I want to point out that it’s already November.

If you want to read about what it’s like to actually use the Specs, here’s my impressions.

HP has a new CEO.

Emma Walmsley, the former head of biotech company GSK and a member of Microsoft’s board, will take over as HP CEO on January 4th, 2027. Bruce Broussard, who became HP’s interim CEO following Enrique Lores’ departure, will serve as chair of the board.

Meta bought an AI coding startup.

First, xAI spent $60 billion on Cursor, and now Meta picked up Conductor for an undisclosed amount, as reported previously by Axios, as they all compete with the likes of Anthropic’s Claude Code and OpenAI’s Codex.

Conductor’s product is built to let software engineers manage multiple agents at once, and says it will wind down its existing setup:

  • Conductor Cloud goes read-only on November 13 and shuts down on November 20.
  • Local Conductor keeps getting new models and critical bug fixes until early 2027.
