Before there was Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth there was Advent Children, a CG movie that served as a sequel to the original game from 1997. It’s a bit of a, let’s say, acquired taste, but if you haven’t had a chance to check it out yet, Square Enix is bringing it to select US theaters on February 21st and 22nd.

Folks were very quick to complain last November about Invincible’s second season dropping in two separate batches. But those same folks are probably going to be overjoyed to hear the show’s returning on March 14th.
Now let’s see if anyone starts appreciating how making shows takes time.

In a year that’s going to be filled with dazzlingly slick and flashy sci-fi features, Level 33 Entertainment’s Molli and Max in the Future from director Michael Lukk Litwak looks like it’s going to stand out for its cleverly practical effects and unhinged vision of the future when it hits theaters on Februrary 9th.
The next game from Obsidian is out this year. And during today’s showcase, the studio gave a deep dive into Avowed’s colorful fantasy realm, real-time combat, and choice-based narrative. We didn’t get an actual release date, though, instead learning that it’ll be out sometime in the fall. I, for one, can’t wait to dual-wield some wands.
You can still see shades of author Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian in French experimental director Bertrand Mandico’s newest film She Is Conann.
But basically everything about the black and white, 35mm epic’s new trailer makes it look like one of the most inspired takes on the classic Conan myth. The film hits theaters on February 2nd.
A24’s Problemista from writer / director / star Julio Torres was one of the many films whose debut was waylaid by last year’s multiple entertainment strikes.
But it’s a day full of new possibilities including, but not limited to: Problemista now hitting select theaters on March 1st before it gets a wider release on March 22nd.
Almost every single frame of Godzilla Minus One is a testament to director Takashi Yamazaki’s love for Ishirō Honda’s iconic disaster film.
But for those who’ve been yearning for a cut of the new film that looks and feels even more like the Toho classic that started it all, good news: Minus One’s coming back to theaters in black and white for a limited run January 26th through February 1st
Vince Staples is something of a renaissance man. He’s a rapper, an actor, and a lowkey, funny-ass comedian, but in the first trailer for Netflix’s The Vince Staples Show from executive producer Kenya Barris, Vince is really …just a dude trying to live, and get a little more culture in people’s diets.
The new project seems a bit like Staples’ old YouTube series, which you should probably check out before the new shop drops on February 15th.
The first teaser for Netflix’s Spaceman — a dramatic sci-fi film from director Johan Renck, starring Adam Sandler — didn’t give a lot away. But the latest trailer gives a much stronger feel for the movie, including a first glimpse at Paul Dano’s little alien character, described as “a mysterious creature from the beginning of time.” It looks intriguing to say the least — and starts streaming on March 1st.
