Seriously, if you’ve never checked out Forecast Advisor, you gotta try it. And are you Team Bluesky or Team Mastodon? Eventually, you might not need to choose — that’s the whole idea — but right now they seem to be chasing one another in a big way.

I sure hope Imgur reconsiders its upcoming purge. It’s been the de facto host for hotlinked images on forums and subreddits for a decade-plus. Killing images not tied to a user account would nuke huge swaths of the internet’s institutional memory. (Do you know how many vintage keyboards are only attested in anonymous Imgur albums linked from Deskthority?!)

The tech industry is abuzz about a new standard for social networking that is more open, more user-centric, and potentially more powerful than Twitter and Facebook. But we’ve been here before.
