Californians love EVs... just not for the poor.

California voters rejected Prop 30, which would have increased taxes on people making over $2 million a year to subsidize electric vehicle purchases for low-income residents, among other climate change fighting measures. Opponents claimed the measure would have been a huge windfall for Lyft, even though it wasn’t really clear how. It’s a weird result, considering the state’s voters handed Lyft (and Uber) a giant win by approving Prop 22 just two years ago. Why so fickle, California?

The Volvo EX90 is a powerful computer that also happens to be an impeccably designed EV

The Swedish automaker’s new flagship electric vehicle will have 300 miles of range, a starting price under $80,000, and a host of high-powered tech from suppliers like Google, Qualcomm, Luminar, Nvidia, and more.

Elon’s “weird nerds” are in search of a rebuttal.

You’ve probably seen that that Simpsons meme of Apu jumping in front of a bullet that’s commonly deployed against Elon Musk fans who feel the need to come up with weird excuses for every criticism lobbed at their favorite billionaire. Well, they’ve had enough of your snide memes, and dammit if they aren’t going to crowdsource a great rebuttal. Any day now!

Arrival may have to depart from the Nasdaq.

The UK-based EV startup reporting receiving a warning from the Nasdaq that its share price has been trading below $1 for the last 30 days, putting it at a risk of delisting. Arrival now has 180 days to get back in to compliance, which basically translates into getting its share price at or above $1 for a span of 30 consecutive days. Its the latest mobility startup to see its valuation plummet after a spate of SPAC mergers over the last two years.
