Ayaneo is adding a screen to its Macintosh-inspired mini PC.

Ayaneo’s Retro Mini PC AM01 debuted in 2023 with a giant black rectangle where the ‘80s-era Macintosh’s screen was located. The company is updating that mini PC’s design and specs its the new AM01S featuring a four-inch articulated screen, as spotted by Time Extension.

Pricing and availability isn’t known yet, but the AMo1S will be powered by an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor.

Ayaneo’s Retro Mini PC AM01S looks even more like a miniature Macintosh with a functional screen on the front.
The AM01S can also be used laying down, which provides access to several of its ports.

This folding credit card pen is wonderfully over-designed.

If you treat your wallet like a Swiss army knife, you may want to save a card slot for the Hancept Zero MK2. Made from aluminum and stainless steel, it starts out completely flat and barely thicker than two credit cards, but rolls and fold into a hexagonal emergency ballpoint pen.

You can pre-order it through Kickstarter, but even early bird pricing is a steep $169, discounted from retail pricing expected to be closer to $270.

When flat, the Hancept Zero MK2 pen is just two millimeters thick and will take up about as much room as two credit cards in your wallet.
The pen uses standard D1 ballpoint pen refills, so you won’t need to stock up on proprietary cartridges.
The pen weighs about 28 grams and uses strong neodymium magnets to stay securely rolled up.

Nintendo’s Alarmo now lets you set a different alarm time for each day of the week.

Firmware version 3.0.0 for Nintendo’s alarm clock has been released, and Nintendo Japan’s support site has a list of the updates. You can now set a different alarm time and mode for each day of the week, and previews have been added to the alarm scene selection screen.

Instead of sleep sounds turning off after 10 minutes, they can now be set to play for as little as one minute, or as long as a full hour.

What if Apple’s expressive Pixar-style lamp could follow you around?

Last month it was revealed that an Apple research team had developed an expressive robot lamp seemingly inspired by Pixar’s Luxo Jr. mascot. Although highly-articulated, Apple’s robot wasn’t mobile, but MiMo is.

Developed by the Japanese robotics company Jizai, MiMo is powered by multiple AI models and features an expressive head that looks like a desk lamp sitting atop six legs allowing the bot to follow people around or interact with them.
