Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon hits theaters on October 20th, and it will be followed by Ridley Scott’s Napoleon on November 22nd. Both will eventually stream on Apple TV Plus — in the meantime, check out this fresh trailer of Napoleon to get a better look at Joaquin Phoenix in the titular role.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder comes out on Friday, and the game is absolutely bursting with ideas. Turns out, though, that a lot of things were left on the cutting room floor. This interview series from Nintendo gets into some of the fun details. My favorite comes from famed composer Koji Kondo:
I shared the idea of an eight-heads-tall, life-sized, live-action Mario humming along with the background music as he goes along... When he jumps, he says to himself, “Boing!” ...The idea was never used, though.

The interactive streaming series Silent Hill: Ascension is premiering on Halloween, and there’s a fresh trailer to get you in the mood for scares. Developer Genvid also announced that “weekly packaged episodes of the audience-influenced storylines” will be available through Sony’s apps on PlayStation and select Bravia TVs and Xperia phones.

The sequel doesn’t change a lot, but it adds some welcome variety to the web-slinging open-world series.
And by that I mean watching and playing spooky things. Luckily there’s a great option this week with The Fall of the House of Usher on Netflix. (If you’re looking for more modern horror, we’ve got you covered.)
Elsewhere, season 7 of Rick and Morty premieres on Sunday, and the excellent sci-fi series Scavengers Reign is now streaming on Max. Otherwise: get ready for a very busy week in video games coming up.
