The big release this week is a gory one: the classic horror game Dead Space now has an excellent remake, that refines the original and pulls in the best bits from later entries in the series.
But there is plenty of other good stuff. Rian Johnson’s excellent murder mystery Poker Face is streaming on Peacock, Forspoken’s parkour action is on the PS5 and PC, and Infinity Pool brings some surreal horror to a theater near you.
Not be outdone by Amazon and Netflix, both of which have scooped up new films at Sundance, Apple is now getting in on the action. Deadline reports that the company has acquired the rights to the musical drama Flora and Son from director John Carney. It’s particularly notable because a previous Sundance acquisition from Apple, CODA, went on to win best picture at the 2022 Oscars.
Niantic has had a tough time following up Pokémon Go, but today the company is taking its next stab at another hit with NBA All World, a location-based basketball game where you collect NBA stars. No word on the best pokéball for snagging Luka. It’s out today on iOS and Android.
