This yule log is neither warm nor cozy.

Whether real or fictional, yule logs generally create a comforting holiday vibe — but not this time. Of course, that’s only fitting for a show like Yellowjackets, where cannibalism is a major plot point. For fans, the log stream does at least have some Easter eggs to find, which will likely make more sense once season 2 kicks off on March 24th.

    Catfishing turned into a game.

Keepsake game designer Jeeyon Shim — who we profiled earlier this year — has teased her next project, a fascinating game called Catfish. It’s a solo experience “about a human who uses their charm to bait unsuspecting victims for their monster friend. Use your own real life dating app messages to lure in your friend’s next meal.” Her Patreon subscribers can check it out some time next year.

Game Pass subscribers are high on High on Life.

According to Microsoft, the comedy shooter High on Life is the biggest release of the year on Game Pass, the Xbox subscription service.

The company says that it’s also the biggest third-party release on the service to date — though how big that actually is remains unclear, since Microsoft didn’t release any real numbers. (The company says the ranking is “measured in terms of engagement, based on the number of hours played in the first five days of release.”)

And while I haven’t officially confirmed this, I think it’s safe to say it’s also the top-ranked game in terms of jokes-per-minute.

A blue humanoid being with feline features and a thick head of dreadlocks riding on the back of an animal in the middle of the ocean at night. In the background, you can see the moonlit sky and the moon’s reflected light bouncing off the surface of the water.

    Genesis does what Nintendon’t.

Well, actually Nintendo can now, thanks to the latest update for Switch Online subscribers, which brings four more Sega games to the service: Golden Axe II, Alien Storm, Columns, and a not-especially-great version of Virtua Fighter 2.
