The eighth episode of the video game podcast A Life Well Wasted just dropped. That’s a big deal not just because host Robert Ashley’s show is excellent, but because it’s the first episode since 2013. You can check it out here, and also pick up the beautiful new poster from Olly Moss.
Director Todd Phillips has released the first image for his second Joker movie — known as Joker: Folie à Deux — and confirmed that filming is underway. There’s not much to pull out of the photo of Joaquin Phoenix getting a shave, but expect plenty more teases in the coming months, since the film isn’t slated to hit theaters until October 4th, 2024.

Without Geralt (or another memorable lead), the series doesn’t do enough to feel different from all the other sprawling fantasy adventures.
There’s a bit of a dark undertone to this week’s big entertainment releases. First up we have Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio on Netflix, a dark and brilliant stop-motion reimagining of the classic tale. Elsewhere, the third and final season of His Dark Materials kicked off on HBO, an updated version of Dwarf Fortress is now on Steam, and both Among Us and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe got big updates worth digging into.

Pedro Eustache — now known to the internet as “flute guy” following his killer performance at The Game Awards last night — has posted a sweet little video thanking everyone for the kind words. It’s the perfect wholesome note to end the week on.
A lot of things happened the Game Awards last night: a new Armored Core, a sequel to Hades, release dates for Diablo IV and Final Fantasy XVI, this dude totally rocking out on a flute. But the most memorable for me was the appropriately bizarre trailer for the next Death Stranding. It features the return of Norman Reedus, Léa Seydoux, and — most importantly — BB. I didn’t realize how much I missed the little guy.
