“Its actual eyes are adorably small and round.”

Another day, another new creature reveal for Pokémon Violet and Scarlet. This time it’s an electric frog-looking thing called Bellibolt that — you guessed it — generates electricity with its belly button.

According to the official description, “the huge amount of electricity generated this way is then discharged from the two bumps on either side of its head that resemble eyeballs.” But don’t worry: “its actual eyes are adorably small and round.”

    Mario Kart 9:00PM.

Who knows when the next Mario Kart game will launch, but in the meantime, you have until October 17th to register to purchase this expensive Tag Heuer watch that features Bullet Bill, a blue shell, and a strap that is most definitely made from the skin of a dead koopa troopa.

“Each one of these is a snowflake.”

Finding unreleased video games is a rare occurrence, and right now there are two recently unearthed finds from the NES — and they’re both on eBay. My colleague Ash Parrish has the full story, which is a fascinating look into the world of video game preservation.

Keeping Call of Duty on PlayStation is a “commercial imperative” for Microsoft.

Ever since Microsoft announced its intention to acquire Activision Blizzard, Sony hasn’t been too happy — particularly when it comes to what might happen with the Call of Duty franchise. There’s been lots of exec-level drama, and today Microsoft issued its strongest statement on the matter yet, saying that keeping Call of Duty on PlayStation platforms is “a commercial imperative for the Xbox business.”

You can finally play Kevin Costner’s Waterworld.

Twitch streamer Macaw45 has taken a quick (and hilarious) gag from an old episode of The Simpsons and turned it into a playable video game: yes, now you can finally experience the wonder that is the arcade game Kevin Costner’s Waterworld. Just make sure you have 40 quarters handy.

The hottest new streamer is a Pokémon gym leader.

The latest clip from Pokémon Violet and Scarlet introduces a character named Iono, who is not only a gym leader, but also apparently a famous streamer and influencer as well. She certainly knows how to dress. If you want to know more about the actual games, meanwhile, be sure to check out this 14-minute-long video from last week, which is packed with details.

    Look at this giraffe.

The Last of Us got a gorgeous PS5 remaster not too long ago, and now Artstation Magazine has posted a huge collection of concept art that the talented folks at developer Naughty Dog whipped up for the game. There are beautiful character designs and landscapes, but I can’t stop staring at this giraffe.
