It was a busy festival filled with gruesome horror, inventive sci-fi, and plenty more films that will be coming to theaters and streaming services in the coming months.
This week’s big entertainment release is the best M. Night Shyamalan movie in years, with Knock at the Cabin, which is in theaters now. (And be sure to check out his Apple TV Plus series Servant, which is racing to its conclusion.)
We’re inching closer to the April 7th premiere of the Super Mario Bros. Movie, and while trailers are nice, nothing beats a good movie poster. Just look at those bros posing.
The February line-up for Apple’s subscription gaming service includes two bonafide classics: Riptide GP: Renegade, a sort of spiritual successor to games like Wave Race 64, and Lifeline, an incredible narrative about texting with an astronaut trapped on an alien moon. They, alongside new releases Castle Crumble and Farmside, will be launching throughout the month.
The end of the world doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom. Sometimes it can be a chill ride through a world on the brink, like in Season: A Letter to the Future, which launches today on the PS4, PS5, and PC.
The big release this week is a gory one: the classic horror game Dead Space now has an excellent remake, that refines the original and pulls in the best bits from later entries in the series.
But there is plenty of other good stuff. Rian Johnson’s excellent murder mystery Poker Face is streaming on Peacock, Forspoken’s parkour action is on the PS5 and PC, and Infinity Pool brings some surreal horror to a theater near you.
