    Looking cool, Game Pass.

Xbox’s subscription service is getting a nice wave of releases: today there’s A Plague Tale: Requiem, and the next few days will see several Amnesia games (just in time for Halloween) along with Persona 5 Royal (which is also out on the Nintendo Switch this week) come to Game Pass. I’ll be streaming the P5 soundtrack in the meantime.

    Sketches of the Lands Between.

The sweeping score of Elden Ring feels like the perfect fit for a big orchestral concert, but we’re getting something a little different: jazz. Takuya Kuroda (trumpet) and Kenny Garrett (alto sax) are teaming up for an event called “A Night in the Lands Between” on December 3rd, which will reimagine the game’s soundtrack through jazz. It’ll be both an in-person show at the Bourbon Room in Hollywood and a livestream for those who buy virtual tickets. There are few betters buffs than a little bebop.

Not all of the changes are for the better with the new game, but the core remains unlike anything else out there

Minecraft Steve and Alex have some new friends.

Minecraft developer Mojang revealed a lot of new updates and features at Minecraft Live today, but one of the most significant is the addition of seven new default skins to the base game, offering much greater diversity for new players. Expect to see them start showing up towards the end of November or early December.

It’s an eclectic week for new entertainment releases.

The release schedule has been lighter than usual — a bit like a calm before the storm as we get into the holidays — but there’s still some interesting stuff to check out this week. And it covers quite a broad range of styles and genres: She-Hulk just wrapped up its first season, Chainsaw Man started streaming on Crunchyroll, Decision to Leave is now in theaters, and for Elden Ring fans, that game just got a big ol’ update with lots of changes.

She-Hulk went meta with its finale.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law just wrapped up its first season on Disney Plus, and the show about a fourth wall-breaking character unsurprisingly went in a very meta direction to wrap things up. For more on what worked — and what didn’t — with the final episode, check out this analysis from my colleague Charles Pulliam-Moore.

Spotify is bringing Drake to El Clásico.

How is that for a Mad Libs sentence. But it actually makes sense: as part of its sponsorship of Barcelona, Spotify is putting Drake’s logo on the club’s jersey to celebrate him becoming the first artist with 50 billion streams. And it’s happening during one of the biggest games of the year, when Barca take on Real Madrid this Sunday. As the song says, “just hold on, it’s coming home.”
