TSMC’s US chips come at a premium.

Five to 20 percent, to be a little inexact. That’s according to AMD CEO Lisa Su, who told Bloomberg that components from TSMC’s Arizona facilities will cost more than similar parts made in Taiwan, but says it’s worth it for diversifying supply chains.

AMD is expecting its first Arizona-made chips by the end of the year.

Sony buys a stake in Bandai Namco.

It’s only taking 2.5 percent, but that’ll set Sony back JPY68 billion (around $464 million).

They’re calling it a “strategic business alliance,” focused on “expanding the fan community for IP such as anime and manga.” Sounds like it’ll be as much about Sony’s anime streaming service Crunchyroll as it will be about the two companies’ gaming pedigree.

After six months, the UK confirms Google and Apple are both big tech companies.

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has proposed giving them “strategic market status” for iOS and Android, since over 90 percent of UK mobile devices run either OS.

It took the CMA since January to figure out what the EU did two years ago, and somehow it’s not done yet — it’ll take until October to confirm the proposal, around the same time it will “begin consulting” on its roadmaps to rein the two in.

The Pixel 10 Pro design has leaked too.

After sharing the first official renders of the Pixel 10 yesterday, today Android Headlines has images of the 10 Pro in a more muted set of colors.

With the 10 boasting a telephoto lens too, the only visible difference between the phones is the Pro-exclusive temperature sensor, the small dot below the flash. That detail gives away that yesterday’s official design reveal by Google is of the Pro too.

The Pixel 10 Pro apparently comes in black, white, gray-blue, and a pale green.
Renders of what Android Headlines reports are official renders of the Google Pixel 10 smartphone.
Here’s the official image Google shared, which looks to be the 10 Pro.

Can South Park save Paramount Plus?

With a $1.5 billion five-year deal to lock the irreverent show down and take it away from HBO Max, the streaming service clearly thinks so.

Paramonut Plus is steadily gaining subscribers, but lags behind rivals when it comes to the most popular content, and securing South Park might just help. And hey, if it distracts from stories about its troubled Skydance merger and payouts to Trump, that can’t hurt either, right?

Samsung’s Galaxy A56 is finally on sale in the US.

It took Samsung four and a half months from announcing the Galaxy A56 to quietly adding it to its US store, though other countries have had the phone since March.

Starting at $499.99, it comes in gray or gray, and is a pretty standard midranger: Exynos 1580 chip, 6.7-inch OLED display, 50-megapixel main camera, and a 5,000mAh battery with 45W wired charging.
