OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has already announced the company’s plans to add a new shortcut button to its phones, but now he has confirmed on Weibo that it’s coming to the 13T, as reported earlier by Android Authority. Though the key will still allow users to switch between silent, vibrate, and ringing modes, Lau says it will also be able to perform new custom functions that he’ll reveal in the future.
Sources tell The Information that the hardware startup, called io Products, is considering creating a phone-like product without a screen, as well as “AI-enabled household devices.” OpenAI has also considered purchasing the project and its team of engineers for at least $500 million, according to The Information.

24-year-old Mykhailo Viktorovych Polyakov took an inflatable boat to North Sentinel Island located in the Bay of Bengal. There, he left an “offering” of Diet Coke and a coconut to the remote Sentinelese tribe, which has resisted outsiders in the past, The New York Times reports.
Police arrested Polyakov when he returned to India’s Port Blair, as it’s illegal to attempt to contact the tribe to “protect their Indigenous way of life,” according to a police statement.
