    Binance faces tax evasion charges in Nigeria after executive escapes custody.

    Binance executives Nadeem Anjarwalla and Tigran Gambaryan were detained in Nigeria last month after visiting the country amid concerns about crypto’s effect on local currency.

    However, Binance tells CNBC it has been “made aware” that Anjarwalla is no longer in Nigerian authorities’ custody. The Nigerian government has since accused Binance of four counts of tax evasion, including failure to file tax returns.

    Will Apple make a Pencil compatible with the Vision Pro?

    A source tells MacRumors that Apple is working on just that, potentially allowing Vision Pro wearers to use the Pencil with drawing apps like Freeform and Pixelmator. Rumors suggest that Apple is planning to take the wraps off of a new Pencil next month, but there’s no word on whether it will come with visionOS support just yet.

    Boeing’s CEO will step down at the end of this year.

    In a letter to staff, Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun writes the Alaska Airlines door blowout was a “watershed moment” for Boeing and that now is the “right time for a CEO transition.” Boeing will select a new CEO before Calhoun steps down later this year.

    Additionally, Boeing announced that its Commercial Airplanes CEO Stan Deal is retiring and will be replaced by Stephanie Pope starting today. The company’s board chair Larry Kellner will also not stand for reelection, with Steve Mollenkopf serving as his replacement.

    Fitbit users soon won’t be able to download third-party apps or clock faces in the EU.

    The change, which will go into effect in June 2024, comes after “a careful assessment of the impact of new regulatory requirements,” Google says. It won’t impact EU users’ ability to use the apps and clock faces they’ve already downloaded.

    Google already shut down Fitbit Studio, the tool used to make apps and clockfaces for Fitbit wearables last April. It also lost several other social features as its ecosystem becomes more intertwined with Google’s.
