Amazon is expanding its counterfeit-fighting Transparency program.

Amazon’s Transparency program, which allows the company to verify the authenticity of products sold on its marketplace, now supports brands’ own serial numbers.

The e-commerce giant previously required sellers to apply unique barcodes to each of their products that Amazon would validate each time a product is sold. But now, Amazon can verify the authenticity of products without sellers having to make changes to their existing manufacturing and packaging process.

Dish is suing BritBox for patent infringement.

Dish and its SlingTV subsidiary are suing BritBox, a streaming service owned by the BBC and ITV, over claims it infringed on eight of its patents related to its adaptive bitrate streaming technology (ABR). ABR adjusts the quality of a stream based on a user’s internet connection.

Dish sued Peloton and the fitness app iFit on similar grounds in 2021, leading to an import ban on equipment from both companies. In this most recent suit, Dish is also asking the court to block BritBox from allegedly infringing on its ABR tech.
