Tony Gilroy says he doesn’t “have any idea” what Andor’s audience is.

That’s all thanks to the way streaming services like Disney Plus keep their viewership data under wraps, the Andor showrunner tells The Wrap. It’s also one of the reasons why Hollywood writers are on strike:

One of the central issues of this entire labor experience is that I don’t have any idea what the audience is... So I wish I knew how many people watched, I wish I knew who they were, and I’m not sure that that’s possible.

“The metaverse hype is dead,” according to Meta’s VP of metaverse.

During the Fortune Brainstorm Tech event on Tuesday, Meta exec Vishal Shah said the metaverse’s “hype cycle” has come and gone — but he doesn’t believe that’s a bad thing:

We didn’t invest for the hype, we have been investing in the space for years... I’m actually pretty happy that there was both a hype and a trough of disillusionment last year, it was tough to live through that, of course, ourselves. But now we have our heads down and built, because that’s what it takes to build something difficult to iterate and do it.

Threads was the top free iPhone app last week.

According to Apple’s weekly app rankings, Threads was the most popular free app for the week ending July 9th. That’s not all too surprising, given that Threads has already garnered over 100 million users since launching last week.

Threads was the number one free app last week, followed by Temu and Remini.
