Samsung’s massive 49-inch gaming monitor is on sale now.

But with a price tag of $2,199.99, this monitor doesn’t come cheap.

Aside from its ridiculously large size, the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 comes with several other high-end specs, including a 5,120 x 1,440 resolution, a 240Hz refresh rate, and a speedy 0.03ms response time.

After Samsung opened preorders earlier this month, now the monitor is available to purchase through Best Buy, Amazon, Newegg, and Samsung’s website.

The Supreme Court deals another blow to Genius’ case against Google.

In an order list filed on Monday, the Supreme Court declined to let Genius revive its case against Google, which accused the search giant of scraping song lyrics from its website in violation of copyright laws.

While Genius first sued Google in 2019, a New York judge later found that Google didn’t break any copyright rules by surfacing song lyrics in its search results, as Genius doesn’t actually own these lyrics. An appeals court ruled to uphold this decision last year.

The US Navy thinks it heard the Titan’s implosion.

After the Titan lost contact with the surface, the WSJ reports that the US Navy “conducted an analysis of acoustic data” from a top-secret detection system.

It later found what it believes was the sound of the Titan’s implosion near the Titanic’s wreckage on Sunday, but officials decided to continue the search and rescue mission to “make every effort to save the lives on board.”

James Cameron compares the Titan to the Titanic.

The Titanic director, who visited the remains of the 1912 shipwreck several times, responded to the news of the Titan tourist sub’s “catastrophic implosion” during an interview with ABC News:

A number of the top players in the deep submergence engineering community even wrote letters to the company [OceanGate], saying that what they were doing was too experimental to carry passengers and that needed to be certified.

So I’m struck by the similarity of the Titanic disaster itself. The captain was repeatedly warned about ice ahead of his ship, and yet he steamed at full speed into an ice field on a moonless night.
