Astronomers captured a record-breaking radio signal from a galaxy that’s a whopping 8.8 billion light years away from Earth. Researchers say the distant galaxy emitted the signal when our 13.8 billion-year-old Milky Way was just 4.9 billion years old, offering a glimpse into the past.
