The door plug had to land somewhere.

The door plug that blew off a Boeing 737 Max 9 airplane fell in a tree in a Portland teacher’s yard, as reported by OPB (Oregon Public Broadcasting). OPB interviewed the teacher, Bob Sauer, and he had some great quotes:

Sauer was intrigued to see the door plug’s serial number and other manufacturing details apparently handwritten on the door in permanent marker.

“That’s an interesting way of doing inventory control,” he said.

Microsoft might finally have a fix for issues with Baldur’s Gate 3 saves.

Larian Studios says that Microsoft will release an Xbox firmware update on January 16th that fixes the save bug on Xbox. That said, Larian hasn’t been able to verify the fix, so we might have to wait and see if it actually works.

    Immortality is coming to PS5.

Sam Barlow’s very good (and sometimes weird) FMV game will be available on PS5 on January 23rd. If you don’t want to wait to try it out, you can play it now on PC, Xbox, and mobile via Netflix.

More about MKBHD’s 2023 blind smartphone camera test.

We already knew some of the results from his 2023 smartphone awards, but MKBHD made a whole video breaking down the test in more detail. It’s fascinating stuff — and I bet Google is happy about how its phones showed up.

Hey resubmitted its calendar app to the App Store to try and meet Apple’s rules.

Last week, Apple rejected Hey’s calendar app, and David Heinemeier Hansson (DHH) posted a thread on X (formerly Twitter) today about the resubmission and a new feature in the app so that it has some functionality if you don’t have a Hey account. But DHH still isn’t happy with Apple.

A surprise glimpse of the Gravity Rush movie!

It’s all of five seconds, but Sony snuck in a short look at the upcoming film, based on the Gravity Rush game series, into its CES 2024 press conference. You can see the clip starting at 22:12.

We still know barely anything else about it, or when it might come out, but at least it’s still in development!

Well, an X-Ray video of it, at least, shared by Humane co-founder Imran Chaudhri. The device is set to start shipping in March.

Sony’s Afeela EV is coming to Gran Turismo 7.

In an incredibly unsurprising Sony tie-in, the car will be added to Gran Turismo 7 as part of a patch update “later this year,” according to a blog post. You can get an idea of what it will look like in the game in a new trailer.

    Now that’s cross-promotion.

Sony apparently wants to let you add themes to the screens inside its Afeela EV prototype, as shown at CES 2024. Its examples? Themes of Across the Spider-Verse, a Sony movie, and Fortnite, made by Epic Games, which Sony has invested in.
