    NASA Plus is live now.

NASA’s free, ad-free, and subscription-free streaming service has officially launched. I’m personally a fan of the “Space Out” series tagged under “NASA & Chill,” which are 30-minute shows featuring incredible shots of planets and space stuff all backed by chill music.

In an open letter, Muslim, Palestinian, and Arab Google employees say they have been subject to “hate, abuse, and retaliation” at the company.

They accuse executives and managers of a double standard for freedom of expression for Israeli employees versus Arab, Muslim, and Palestinian workers.

The New York Times reported on the letter and related issues within the company. Some employees that spoke to the Times asked to remain anonymous out of “concern for professional ramifications.”

There might be more ChatGPT issues in the near future.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman says usage of the new features announced at its developer conference are “far outpacing our expectations” and that “there will likely be service instability in the short term due to load.”

Spice up your Playdate with a new cover.

Panic showed off a great-looking “aqua” cover for its little yellow handheld console during Wednesday’s Playdate Update. During the show, the company revealed that another cover is on the way that will be available exclusively to people who subscribe to the Playdate email newsletter.

The purple cover that launched alongside the Playdate isn’t available right now, but it will “be back later,” Greg Maletic, director of special projects and Playdate at Panic, says in a statement to The Verge. “We have plenty of Aqua covers available, and we plan on having both available after the new year.”

Update November 8th, 3:37PM ET: Added statement from Panic.

    We eating.

Starfield’s Steam beta that lets you try DLSS is now available, Bethesda said Wednesday. The update is set to be available to everyone on PC and Xbox later this month.

Also, the update lets you eat food placed in the world, which is something that should have been in the game from the start.

Backbone is making some tweaks to its excellent mobile game controller.

The Backbone One with a USB-C connector is getting an updated D-Pad as well as magnetic adapters that let you use the controller while your phone is in a compatible case. The new controller will be available starting Wednesday — it could be good to use with Resident Evil Village on the iPhone 15 Pro.

I have a Backbone One with a Lightning connector that’s pretty great, so I’m guessing this updated USB-C version will be just as nice, too.

Roblox is still popular — and still growing.

Here’s just a few stats from its Q3 2023 earnings:

📈 Average daily active users hit “a new milestone” of 70.2 million, up 20 percent from the same quarter last year

📈 Daily active users grew across “all age groups”

📈 Average monthly unique players (MUP) hit 14.7 million, while the average bookings per MUP was $19.02

Basically, more and more people are playing Roblox, and many of them are spending money, too. I have to imagine the expansions to PlayStation and Meta Quest have helped.

Microsoft is now using some Oracle infrastructure to help with Bing Chat.

Even Microsoft needs some extra GPUs for its AI tools, and it’s turning to Oracle to get them as part of a multi-year deal, as reported by The Register.

Check how much memory a Chrome tab is using with this one easy trick.

Well, if it’s rolled out to you. With Chrome 119, Google has been slowly rolling out the ability to check how much memory that tab is using just by hovering over the tab, 9to5Google reports. 9to5Google also has details on the flag to enable if you want to switch the feature on for yourself. Handy!
