Amazon is very slowly adding features the Kindle Scribe should have had from the start.

Amazon has emailed customers to say that you can now view and export sticky notes you handwrite on your Scribe on Amazon’s Kindle iOS app, with the feature coming to the Android app in “early 2024.”

And there’s more updates in the works: “Coming soon: Select one page or multiple pages of your notebook at a time to move, add, delete, export, or convert to text to send your contacts,” Amazon wrote in the email.

The US Space Force is the latest organization to stop employees from using generative AI tools.

The Sept. 29 memorandum, addressed to the Guardian Workforce, the term for Space Force members, pauses the use of any government data on web-based generative AI tools, which can create text, images or other media from simple prompts. The memo says they “are not authorized” for use on government systems unless specifically approved.

Many other organizations, from Apple to the House of Representatives, have restricted employee use of certain generative AI tools.

Lo-fi beats to MacBook Air to.

Apple released a 90-minute study video starring actress and USC student Storm Reid (via 9to5Mac). The video is broken into three chunks based on the Pomodoro technique, meaning there are three 25-minute sessions for work each followed by a 5-minute session for a break.

The work sessions are backed by chill lo-fi beats — and of course, a MacBook Air is featured prominently throughout the video. (There’s a dance party at the end, too.)

Threads will never go the distance if it can’t serve Wario64.

Threads has been a lot more vibrant lately, but as highlighted by deals extraordinaire Wario64, it still has its issues. Hopefully Meta can address these niche but important problems — Wario64 and accounts like it can be a great resource!

The Pixel Buds Pro are starting to get Conversation Detection.

Google announced the new feature, which turns on transparency mode and pauses music when you start talking, at its event last week, and now 9to5Google reports that the feature is rolling out as part of the 5.9 update for the headphones. It’s an optional feature, though, so if you don’t like it, you don’t have to use it.

Epic Games won’t let you trade items with your friends in Rocket League starting in December.

The feature will be removed on December 5th. According to Epic:

We’re making this change to align with Epic’s overall approach to game cosmetics and item shop policies, where items aren’t tradable, transferrable, or sellable. This opens up future plans for some Rocket League vehicles to come to other Epic games over time, supporting cross-game ownership.

That last line is intriguing. I wonder if Epic plans to sell cars in Fortnite?

Playing video games over something like Neuralink? Bobby Kotick thinks it might be something we actually do.

Windows Central has some details about an all-hands meeting that took place on Tuesday, including some pontificating by Kotick about how a Neuralink-like brain interface could be a future way we interact with video games and hints about some kind of revival for Guitar Hero.

Since Kotick is expected to depart sometime after Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision closes (which is expected to happen imminently), anything could change about Activision’s plans after Microsoft takes over. I’m crossing my fingers that Microsoft does actually bring back Guitar Hero, though.
