A Bloomberg report on the news says that relocation decisions will happen “at the department level.” Amazon now requires employees to work from the office at least three days per week.
The relocations are being instituted following a round of layoffs in March affecting 9,000 jobs. Those layoffs are on top of the 18,000 job cuts Amazon had already made.
Google launched the feature in beta during Google I/O in May. The company says the update, ChromeOS M115, is coming out “soon.”

The moderators said they kept the sub private to protest Reddit’s API pricing after a community vote. But after getting some messages from the ModCodeOfConduct admin account pushing them to reopen, one mod said Friday they were removed from the subreddit.
“Please don’t feel bad for us — in the end, the ones being hurt here are Reddit itself and the r/Canning community,” the moderator wrote.
The community now open again, in restricted mode, and under the sole management of ModCodeOfConduct, like what I reported about r/malefashionadvice on Thursday. ModCodeofConduct is also the only moderator of r/homeautomation.
The show, called Borderlands EchoVision Live, is being made in partnership with Genvid Entertainment, which is also working on the in-development interactive project in the Silent Hill series. There’s no details on when the show will come out, but you can read the synopsis on Genvid’s website. Fingers crossed that it comes out before the Borderlands movie.
Apple leaker @aaronp613 said the company pushed firmware that references two additional model numbers for the headset’s battery. I’m not aware of Apple publicly discussing other potential batteries for its headset, so I wouldn’t read too much into this just yet. But it is interesting to consider the possibility of additional batteries, even if they don’t actually come to market.
The firmware updates could be one of Apple’s steps to prep for forthcoming the Vision Pro dev kits.
Routes could be an interesting way to get a custom tour of a neighborhood or a city while giving you a chance to catch some pokémon along the way. Niantic’s website says the company will review the routes, so you should be able to trust that a route won’t lead you astray. (If you do run into any bad routes, let me know.)
