Twitter laid off more employees despite Elon Musk saying the company was done with layoffs.

The Information is reporting that the company laid off “about 40 data scientists and engineers working on advertising.” In November, Elon Musk told staff that the company wouldn’t be doing more layoffs, but that apparently wasn’t true.

Microsoft is launching a Xbox Series X bundle with Forza Horizon 5.

The new bundle comes with an Xbox Series X, a controller, and Forza Horizon 5 with a bunch of extra content (including the Hot Wheels DLC and a forthcoming second expansion). Forza Horizon 5 is excellent, so if you’ve been looking into getting a Series X to play it, the bundle, which costs $559, is a pretty good option.

Some people had their Madden NFL 23 franchise saves corrupted because they happened to play at the wrong time.

If you tried to access the Madden NFL 23 Franchise server for an approximately 22-hour period between December 28th and December 29th, your save might have been corrupted, according to a post on EA’s support site. And what’s worse, EA says that it is “currently projecting around 40% of leagues to be recovered,” meaning that more than half of the people affected are seemingly out of luck just for logging in while there was a problem.

If you didn’t log in while the issues were going on, EA says your leagues are safe.

Wizards of the Coast is canceling at least five video games.

Wizards of the Coast is known for tabletop games like Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering, but it’s pulling back on some of its video game efforts, according to Bloomberg.

However, in October, Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks (Wizards of the Coast is a subsidiary of Hasbro) said that “the trend is decisively in the direction that interactive entertainment is the future of entertainment,” so we’ll have to see if the company remains committed to video games over the long term.
