    Google Gemini is “global” ... but not in the EU or UK.

    The mobile apps are available in over 150 countries but European territories are notably absent. That’s about 500 million people who still don’t have access thanks to pesky EU laws that combat disinformation and protect user privacy and data.

    Google says it will gradually expand Gemini to additional regions “that are consistent with local regulations and our AI principles.”

    Elon Musk had a productive visit to China.

    Tesla restrictions set by local authorities have been lifted now that the company’s Chinese-made vehicles have passed their data security requirements, as Musk arrived in Beijing to meet with Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Sunday.

    According to Reuters, the automaker has also secured a deal to use Baidu’s mapping license to collect data on Chinese roads — a key step for introducing Full Self Driving software to the country.

    Equipped with laser sighting, lidar mapping, and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, the Thermonator (yes, really) is apparently legal in 48 US states for things like “snow and ice removal.” It’s also purportedly being sold for $9,420, or about 3x more than buying the robot and flamethrower separately. But what good is a flamethrower if not for a marketing stunt?
