Apple Pencils at the ready — Procreate’s animation app is almost here.

Pre-orders for Procreate Dreams, the highly anticipated 2D animation app for iPad, are now live on the App Store ahead of its November 22nd release.

This is a one-time purchase of $19.99 with no additional fees — a rare sight given the creative software industry’s love for subscription pricing models (I’m looking at you, Adobe).

Here’s hoping we see a rise in solo and indie animation projects when this app is released later this year.

It’s me, hi, I’m the billionaire, it’s me.

According to Bloomberg’s analysis of Taylor Swift’s public assets, she’s now “one of the few entertainers” to achieve billionaire status based almost entirely on her music, merch, and live performances. Swift’s Eras Tour is projected to become the highest-grossing solo tour in history.

Bloomberg’s article is worth reading if only to appreciate the cute bead-bracelet graphics that are used to illustrate Swift’s staggering wealth.

    Bravo, Bloomberg graphics department, bravo.

Apple Watch faces a potential US import ban.

On Thursday, the US International Trade Commission found that Apple violated a patent held by medical tech company Masimo related to measuring blood-oxygen levels.

A limited exclusion order has been placed on certain Apple Watches sporting the contested tech, but Apple still has several means to avoid imports to the US being banned — including software alterations and the decision being overruled by the Biden administration.

Ransomware gang that hacked Capcom “taken down.”

On Friday, Europol announced that authorities from eleven countries have arrested members of the Ragnar Locker ransomware group that targeted “critical infrastructure across the world.” The gang’s dark web-based website used to leak data was taken offline after infrastructure was seized.

Capcom confirmed its security had been breached by Ragnar Locker in 2020, exposing sensitive customer information and unannounced game projects.
