Following its announcement last month, 9to5Google notes that the latest Chromecast with Google TV update allows users to quickly pair headphones to their TV when in close proximity, and shows a new audio output switcher in the menu.
You can check to see if the STTE.231215.005 update is available by heading into Settings > System > About > System update on your Chromecast with Google TV.
Some useful updates are rolling out to Android devices that aim to make life a little easier — including new casting controls for Spotify, and support for Google Wallet passes on Wear OS smartwatches. Google is also launching a beta that allows you to access Gemini via Google Messages on Android phones.
Bloomberg reports that Cruise is preparing to resume service on public roads “in the coming weeks” — possibly in Houston and Dallas, where the company previously operated — but with safety drivers in the seats. Service was suspended in October after one of its autonomous cars struck and dragged a pedestrian in San Francisco.
Cruise spokesman Pat Morrissey said in a statement:
“We have not set a timeline for deployment. Our goal is to relaunch in one city with manually driven vehicles and supervised testing as soon as possible once we have taken steps to rebuild trust with regulators and the public. We are in the process of meeting with officials in select markets to gather information, share updates and rebuild trust.”
Since the SF incident, Cruise’s license to operate in California was suspended, several top executives have left, and the company has let go almost a quarter of its workforce.
The flight on April 8th has been adjusted for the next total solar eclipse to spend as much time as possible within the path of totality — the duration in which the Moon completely blocks out the sun.
Delta flight 1218 will be specifically operated on an A220-300, which will offer especially premium viewing due to the aircraft’s extra-large windows. The flight will depart from Austin at 12:15 p.m. CT and land in Detroit at 4:20 p.m. ET — timed to give those on board the best chance of safely viewing the solar eclipse at its peak.
Roundtrip tickets are currently priced at $1,357 in the main cabin, which is more than double the usual fare. Still, that might be worth it since according to NASA it’ll be the last total eclipse visible from North America until 2044.
