Last week, Levi’s revealed it would be supplementing human fashion models with AI-generated ones to ‘sustainably diversify’ its online shopping platforms. Unsurprisingly, people took issue with that.
The denim company responded by blaming industry standards for its model limitations on photoshoots and now claims it “did not see this pilot as a means to advance diversity.” It went on to claim, “we are not scaling back our plans for live photo shoots, the use of live models, or our commitment to working with diverse models.”
