Elon Musk loses bid to block OpenAI’s transformation.

District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers has denied Musk’s request for an injunction to pause the ChatGPT maker’s transition to a for-profit company. The case is now set for an expedited trial this fall given “the public interest at stake.”

This comes after OpenAI unanimously rejected Musk’s unsolicited $97.4 billion offer to buy the AI startup. In February Rogers said she was unlikely to issue an injunction in a case pitting “billionaires versus billionaires.

‘Never owned a car that generated so much hate.’

Users on a Facebook group for Cybertruck owners are posting about public backlash being directed towards their vehicles, showing people flicking them off and lewd or abusive messages they’ve received.

Cybertrucks are a recognizable target for the “Tesla Takedown” protestors opposing Elon Musk’s federal government takeover. Many owners are embracing the hate, however, with 404 Media noting that group members chalk it up to something only “crazed,” “poor,” or “brainwashed” “libs” are doing.

Pixel 10 could include Google’s new ‘Pixie’ assistant.

The rumored on-device — “even Google can’t see it” — AI assistant can pull data from other Google apps to provide a contextual and more “personalized” take on Google Assistant that’s exclusive to Pixel devices. It was reportedly going to launch with the Pixel 9 lineup but never materialized. A version of Pixie is now expected to arrive with the Pixel 10, according to Android Authority, under a new “Pixel Sense” branding.

This town is sick of Amazon’s droning.

Wired reports that Amazon has reduced the number of drone flights under its Prime Air delivery service in College Station, Texas, and is looking to relocate its hub within the city following noise complaints from nearby residents.

Correction, March 3rd: This post originally included a video that said Amazon’s drones exceed 71db of noise. The video was a “simulation” created by a resident, measuring a chainsaw. Amazon spokesperson Sam Stephenson did not provide dB readings for the drones in question, but pointed to CNBC’s reporting of a separate city test of the drone that found it within the 47-61 dB range. Since then, Amazon introduced the MK30, which reduced the perceived volume by half, the company says.

Messenger has an old new logo.

Meta has ditched the pink/purple hued design it introduced in 2020 and replaced it with a more boring version.

The new design looks similar to previous all blue Messenger logos, which may be part of Mark Zuckerberg’s plan to “get back to some OG Facebook.” Or perhaps this is the “masculine energy” he thinks we’re deprived of?

All four of the Facebook Messenger logos between 2013-2025.
Here are all the logos that Messenger has used since 2013. Farewell color gradient, you will be missed.
