    WW2 bomb disrupts Eurostar.

The unexploded bomb was discovered overnight in the Saint-Denis suburb of Paris during works on the tracks, halting the Eurostar and all other local trains at Gare du Nord, France’s busiest station. Impacted Eurostar travellers are being asked to move their journey to a different date.

Old bombs like this are a regular discovery due to how often railyards in Paris were targeted during wartime, but they’re rarely uncovered in such a densely populated area.

Companies can brand their Chrome accounts now.

The circular account icon at the top right of the browser has been updated for Chrome Enterprise users. Companies can now add the workplace name beside their staffer’s user icon — making it easier to identify for people who jump between several Google accounts.

A small but welcome change for anyone using the same image between different Chrome profiles.

    Evictions at Sesame Street.

The nonprofit Sesame Workshop production company is laying off staff, with Sesame Street still needing to find a new platform to broadcast future episodes after Max dropped the beloved children’s show in December. Production on season 56 starts next month and will feature a new “narrative-led” format.

The cuts were announced shortly after unionization efforts from 200 employees. It’s unclear how many staffers are impacted, but the company said it will “downsize significantly.”

Elon Musk isn’t selling a diabetes cure.

Contrary to what Facebook ad scams are promoting via deepfake videos of Fox News personalities, Musk hasn’t discovered “one simple trick” to reverse the blood sugar condition. Most of these ads, which Engadget started noticing in early February, are linking viewers to unproven supplements that “big pharma” doesn’t want you to see.

It’s common for fraudsters to use AI-manipulations in “celeb bait” scams. Meta is in the process of investigating and removing the ads.

Archivists preserve the pre-Trump CDC website.

RestoredCDC.org mirrors the Centers for Disease Control website as it was before the current administration removed critical information about HIV, reproductive, vaccine, and transgender-related healthcare. While some pages on the real CDC site have since been restored under court order, many now feature a yellow banner rejecting “gender ideology.”

The team behind RestoredCDC says its goal is to provide critical information “from before the potential tampering occurred.”

UK antitrust watchdog clears Microsoft’s OpenAI partnership.

The Competition and Markets Authority has ruled that the relationship between the two companies “does not qualify for investigation” under merger rules. The CMA said in 2023 that it was assessing whether Microsoft’s $13 billion investment into the AI startup gave it de facto control over OpenAI policy.

While now satisfied that it doesn’t, the CMA says that Microsoft “instead exerts a high level of material influence over that policy.”

Blue Ghost’s lunar landing has real Apollo vibes.

The footage is so crisp that it almost looks like CGI. Check out the incredible shot of the Firefly Aerospace lander’s shadow coming back into focus after the Moon dust settles.

Elon Musk loses bid to block OpenAI’s transformation.

District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers has denied Musk’s request for an injunction to pause the ChatGPT maker’s transition to a for-profit company. The case is now set for an expedited trial this fall given “the public interest at stake.”

This comes after OpenAI unanimously rejected Musk’s unsolicited $97.4 billion offer to buy the AI startup. In February Rogers said she was unlikely to issue an injunction in a case pitting “billionaires versus billionaires.
