I sure hope Imgur reconsiders its upcoming purge. It’s been the de facto host for hotlinked images on forums and subreddits for a decade-plus. Killing images not tied to a user account would nuke huge swaths of the internet’s institutional memory. (Do you know how many vintage keyboards are only attested in anonymous Imgur albums linked from Deskthority?!)

According to this deep dive on Amazon’s Studio business, 37 percent of people (in the US) who started The Rings of Power finished the first season. Sure, that sounds low, but when you spend $715 million on one season of a show, your target audience is “everyone.” For a show based on the appendixes to The Lord of the Rings? 37 percent seems pretty good.
