Sony Pictures is the first studio moving upcoming releases around.

With no movement on resolving Hollywood’s strikes by actors and writers, the third animated Spider-Man movie, Beyond the Spider-Verse is going from March 29th, 2024 (a date now filled by the sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife) to entirely unscheduled.

Gran Turismo will have a “sneak peek” launch on its previously scheduled August 11th date, but plans for more showings have been pushed back to the 25th.

Kraven the Hunter was set for October 6th and has been pushed back to August 30th, 2024, while Venom 3 now has a release date of July 12th, 2024, and fellow Spider-Man spinoff Madame Web moved up two days to February 16th.

YouTube TV’s multiview feature is now live.

The feature for watching up to four feeds at once has been in testing, and now it’s officially available well ahead of this fall’s NFL Sunday Ticket streams for WNBA League Pass subscribers.

It’s no longer a sports-only affair, but YouTube TV’s FAQ notes it’s still limited to “multiple pre-selected live games simultaneously within a Primetime Channel,” and only on streaming devices or smart TVs where you can use your remote to click around to select which feed has audio.

Twitter’s slipshod rebranding project runs into Apple’s App Store rules.

The app formerly known as Twitter is still listed as Twitter in the App Store, which, as pointed out by a few people, is likely due to Apple’s rules, which appear to bar anyone from shortening the marketing name in the App Store to a single character.

However, you can make the Home Screen name of an app a single character, which is how it now appears, along with the new icon.

Twitter is now labeled X on iOS too.

After the app’s rebranding on Android, we’re seeing the new (old) logo on Apple devices too. It’s still named Twitter, but the bird icon is gone, replaced by Elon Musk’s current fascination, X.

Reporting from inside the AI factory.

The Verge’s Josh Dzieza appeared on Vox’s Today, Explained podcast to discuss his recent report on the human element involved in creating the AI tools everyone is talking about lately.

As he wrote then, “a vast tasker underclass is emerging — and not going anywhere.”

    The Amazon deliveries must flow.

The possibility of a Teamsters strike cutting off the last-mile deliveries by UPS that many retailers rely on (including Amazon, which reportedly remains UPS’ biggest customer by revenue despite its own delivery network) appears to have been averted, as the two reached a new five-year contract that will need to be ratified through a vote by the 340,000~ unionized workers.

Safety and health protections, including vehicle air conditioning and cargo ventilation. In-cab A/C in all larger delivery vehicles, sprinter vans, and package cars purchased after Jan. 1, 2024. All cars get two fans and air induction vents in the cargo compartments

Existing full- and part-time UPS Teamsters will get $2.75 more per hour in 2023, and $7.50 more per hour over the length of the contract

Existing part-timers will be raised up to no less than $21 per hour immediately

Average top rate increasing to $49 per hour

The cofounder of Facebook has a theory about Elon’s favorite stat.

Ever since he took over Twitter, Elon Musk has pointed to “total active user seconds” or other similar metrics, claiming they show more usage of Twitter than ever.

Facebook (and Asana) co-founder Dustin Moskovitz floated one theory on Threads about why they might have gone up: video. You know, like, the entire Super Mario Bros. movie, for example. Do you think he might be on to something?

Google is ending Play Services support for Android KitKat.

After ten years, it’s time to call it for Android 4.4. The Google packages that enable tons of apps and features will cut out that version of Android starting... now.

As of July 2023, the active device count on KK is below 1% as more and more users update to the latest Android versions. Therefore, we are no longer supporting KK in future releases of Google Play services.

The candy-branded version of Android that was “more google than ever” had both Chromecast streaming and support for IR blasters. It truly contained multitudes.

The cable company that paid $200 million for the “CNBC for millennials” is reportedly trying to unload it.

You’re most likely familiar with Cheddar TV as a network that plays on the screen at the gas pump (and you may have seen some of your favorite Verge editors on there).

It was founded by a former Buzzfeed exec (Mia Sato can tell you more about how that’s been going), and in 2019, Altice USA bought it, hoping to carve out a foothold in live news that hasn’t entirely materialized.
