Enterprise IT teams have a few new options for workers with devices running Android 14, as Google’s blog post mentions a default screen lock PIN that has increased from four to six, the ability for admins to allow only approved credential managers to store login info, the ability to block potentially insecure 2G connections, and logs for ultra wideband.
Now that the new OS has launched along with the Pixel 8 family of devices, Android 14 can make it easier to select certain profiles for certain apps, switch between profiles, and save work-related screenshots directly to the work profile only.

Eurogamer and VG247 report a Team17 spokesperson confirms CEO Michael Pattison, who joined the company two years ago after leaving PlayStation, is out. In 2022, Team17 was one of the companies that announced plans for an NFT project, before backtracking.
In response to rumors of plans for layoffs with “tens of redundancies,” the statement says:
We can also confirm that we have sadly entered into a period of consultation today within Team17 Digital, with Astragon and Storytoys remaining unaffected by the restructuring plans.
After a period of beta testing, NASA rolled out an updated eighth revision of its website last week. The modernized image layouts and text look fine, even if I’m a little nostalgic for the seemingly-ancient previous version that was last updated in the mid 2010s. (The Internet Archive shows even earlier revisions, like 2007’s v5.0 update.)
This new version of NASA.gov is also launching ahead of a full NASA App revamp and NASA Plus video on-demand streaming launch later this year, promising an “ad-free, no cost, and family-friendly streaming service,” with live coverage plus collections of original video series and a few new series.
While attacks like the massive MOVEit breach have spurred regulators to implement new rules around disclosure, Progress Software released a patch for another one of its products last week (via TechCrunch).
The September 2023 update addresses “multiple vulnerabilities” in its WS_FTP file-transfer software for enterprise users who need to move data around securely, and as TechCrunch points out, security company Rapid7 reports it’s “observed multiple instances of WS_FTP exploitation in the wild.”

Closely following the theatrical release of Taylor Swift’s concert film for her Eras Tour that broke presale records, Beyoncé announced Renaissance, a film experience captured during her 2023 tour at the tour’s final stop in Kansas City. It’s appearing in theaters starting on December 1st.
