Dr Disrespect remonetized by YouTube as Midnight Studios closes.

Six months ago, YouTube demonetized game streamer Guy Beahm, aka Dr Disrespect, after he confirmed reports about why his Twitch channel was banned in 2020. In a now-deleted post, he wrote:

Were there twitch whisper messages with an individual minor back in 2017? The answer is yes.

Now, on the same day the game studio he co-founded before it cut ties with him last summer announced it’s shutting down, Kotaku reports that Beahm informed his viewers YouTube re-enabled monetization. The 10,000 ‘Founders Access’ NFT passes Beahm and Midnight Studios sold for their game Deadrop weren’t mentioned.

Bloomberg: iOS 18.3 added Starlink support on iPhones.

According to Bloomberg and user reports, T-Mobile’s list of eligible devices for beta testing Starlink direct-to-cell connections now includes iPhones. While only a few Samsung Galaxy devices were supported at first, now iPhone owners with the most recent update can reportedly connect, as well as some people with Android 15 devices.

That gives those owners an alternative to Apple’s Globalstar-connected service while off the grid that works without pointing their phone at the sky first.

The new leader of all things PlayStation should be very familiar.

As of April 1st, Hideaki Nishino will become the president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, the company behind the PlayStation brand. This comes nearly a year after he and Herman Hulst were appointed co-CEOs of the PlayStation business, splitting responsibilities for leading the platform business and games following the retirement of Jim Ryan.

Hulst will continue leading development of PlayStation content for consoles, PC, film, and TV but will now report to Nishino.

    Nishino:

We will continue to grow the PlayStation community in new ways, such as IP expansion, while also delivering the best in technology innovation.

Yes, it does look a lot like Apple’s Vision Pro, but that is actually Project Moohan, the Samsung / Google project we tried out last month and saw again recently at Samsung Unpacked.

In this YouTube video, Marques Brownlee shows some views you may not have seen yet of the hardware and what the Android UI looks like for the wearer.

Marvel Snap is back in the App Store.

Now listed as self-published by developer Second Dinner instead of ByteDance-owned Nuverse, the card battler has escaped the TikTok ban and is back for iPhone / iPad players, even though the Google Play listing still doesn’t work.

It was only gone for about a week, but now iOS players can download Marvel Snap to new devices and install updates again. TikTok’s fate remains undetermined.

Bluesky adds a video tab to user profiles.

Bluesky’s video posts are still limited to just one minute, but they should be easier to find outside of feeds now that you can simply swap to that tab to see any videos that someone has posted.

Otherwise, the team says its new 1.97 update has added a quick menu to block and/or delete a conversation after reporting a DM.
