Apollo reportedly has a multibillion-dollar investment offer for Intel.

After multiple reports surfaced Friday saying Qualcomm talked to Intel about a possible acquisition, now Bloomberg reports Apollo Global Management has offered to make an “equity-like investment” of up to $5 billion.

Like the Qualcomm rumor, the details are all tentative at best, but until we find out more, I’m trying to think of who else might want a piece of Intel?

    Apple Intelligence update schedule.

Mark Gurman writes in his Power On newsletter for Bloomberg that Apple is “racing” to complete the second set of Apple Intelligence features it plans to release this year, lining up Genmoji, ChatGPT, and Image Playground for a December launch with iOS 18.2.

Meanwhile, some Siri updates could launch sooner than previously rumored with 18.3, but the “biggest” update is apparently iOS 18.4, which could arrive in March.

Let’s just start with the camera.

There’s a lot more to the iPhone 16 Pro and the Apple Intelligence-less launch version of iOS 18, but if you need a reason to consider upgrading now, it might be that confusing camera.

Google Search results are next on the EU’s list.

Bloomberg reports that “a formal chargesheet” is being prepared by EU officials, taking issue with how it presents rivals on search services like Google Flights and Google Hotels.

Search is already under antitrust fire in the US, and those findings could lead to a big financial penalty under the DMA, although things could change before a final decision is due before April 2025.
