ChatGPT just got two new apps.

Now you can plan a workout routine with Peloton or make vacation plans with Tripadvisor directly in ChatGPT. They’re the latest additions to the AI platform’s app library since it launched last month. More are still on the way, including Uber and DoorDash.

Google is getting ready to launch its 7th-gen AI chip, Ironwood, which can scale up to 9,216 chips in a single “superpod.”

Google’s new TPU promises four times stronger performance than its predecessor, Trillium, while being more energy-efficient and cost-effective for powering AI inference on a larger scale, such as running AI agents.

Anthropic has already announced plans to use 1 million of the new chips to power Claude. Google says Ironwood will be available “in the coming weeks.”

A new bipartisan bill could force businesses to report layoffs caused by AI.

The “AI-Related Job Impacts Clarity Act,” introduced by Senators Mark Warner (D-VA) and Josh Hawley (R-MO), would require government agencies and publicly-traded companies to report how many people they fire, hire, and retrain due to AI. It comes just a few weeks after union leaders called for more regulation around AI.

“Good policy starts with good data. This bipartisan legislation will finally give us a clear picture of AI’s impact on the workforce – what jobs are being eliminated, which workers are being retrained, and where new opportunities are emerging.”

A pair of ransomware negotiators have been indicted for running their own ransomware attacks.

The DOJ is charging two former ransomware negotiators at DigitalMint, along with a former incident response manager at Sygnia, for allegedly hacking and attempting to extort at least five US-based companies using ALPHV/BlackCat ransomware, as reported by the Chicago Sun-Times. The “rogue” trio allegedly got a $1.2 million ransom from one victim. DigitalMint and Sygnia say they are cooperating with the investigation.
