Remember Alf? He’s back! In linear TV form.

Alf, the lovable cat-munching alien from the sitcom golden era of the ‘80s, is getting a marathon on Ryan Reynolds’ linear Maximum Effort channel on FuboTV this Saturday (which is also my birthday. Ryan Reynolds, you shouldn’t have!).

The marathon will feature “new original Alf content” in the form of ‘Maximum Moments’ ads featuring creator, original puppeteer, and voice actor Paul Fusco as Alf.

Turns out you need to log into your Ubisoft account every now and then to keep your games.

A Twitter user last week tweeted a screenshot of an Ubisoft email saying their account was suspended and risked closure (via PC Gamer).

According to Ubisoft’s Terms of Use, your account can be terminated “upon notification, where your Account has been inactive for more than six months.” Afterwards, “you cannot use the Services and Content anymore.”

Ubisoft defines games as being among those services.

Mismanaging billions in customer funds at their crypto exchange wasn’t FTX execs’ only bad idea.

A lawsuit filed Thursday by FTX against its former leaders showed Sam Bankman-Fried’s younger brother messaging someone at the FTX Foundation charity about buying the Pacific island nation of Nauru, as reported by Bloomberg.

[it would be used] for “some event where 50%-99.99% of people die [to] ensure that most EAs [effective altruists] survive” and to develop “sensible regulation around human genetic enhancement, and build a lab there.” The memo further noted that “probably there are other things it’s useful to do with a sovereign country, too.”

This would be news to the nation’s roughly 12,000 existing inhabitants. Also, at 213 feet elevation, it’s vulnerable to rising seas, and damage from phosphate mining has rendered most of its land uninhabitable.

SDCC 2023: Here’s some new footage from the open-world Star Wars Outlaws.

At San Diego Comic-Con today, Ubisoft showed a behind-the-scenes video from Massive Entertainment’s new open-world Star Wars Outlaws. There’s good stuff: concept art, new game footage, and some details about their sources of inspiration.

The video showed new environments along with a couple other surprises I won’t spoil before you watch the video.

I should... warn my partner this game is coming.

Apple plans to let you buy in the Apple Store and have things shipped to you.

The company will allow you to choose this option while paying using its in-store EasyPay system, starting in August, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in today’s Power On newsletter. He cited a memo sent to Apple retail employees:

We want all our customers to leave the store with exactly what they came for. And this will be easier with EasyPay Online Ordering, launching in early August. With a single bag transaction, you’ll have the option of different fulfillment methods, like shipping or personalizing a product.

Gurman believes this will let Apple keep less stock in stores, and also points out that it makes sense for the Vision Pro headset, which will have accessory options that, if they’re out of stock, would otherwise lose the company a big sale.
