Chrome’s “link to highlight” feature could work for PDFs soon.

A recent Chromium build suggests Chrome could get support for linking directly to highlighted text in PDFs just like you can on a normal webpage, writes code sleuth Leopeva64 in a post that Bleeping Computer spotted.

As a person who has tried too many times to copy links to highlighted text in PDFs only to be disappointed, I’m thrilled.

Android could get Fast Pair support for hearing aids.

Android Authority spotted references in a recent Google Play Services beta that suggest Google is working to support hearing aids through its Fast Pair standard for quickly connecting things like wireless headphones.

The outlet notes that Google announced last year it would support hearing aids with Bluetooth LE Audio, which is part of Google’s proprietary Fast Pair feature.

Is Adrian Dittman actually a German person living in Fiji?

The Spectator argues that its analysis of Dittmann’s online presence shows that rather than being an invention of Elon Musk’s, Dittmann is part of a family that has been living and investing in Fiji since 2012.

You can see the Dittmann family in a YouTube video in which they’re greeted by Fiji’s President.

Lyft says it’s picking up the tab for NYC’s new congestion pricing this month.

Rideshare rides in lower Manhattan will cost an extra $1.50 as part of a new rideshare congestion fee starting tomorrow.

Washington Post cartoonist Ann Telnaes quits over a canceled Jeff Bezos cartoon.

Telnaes writes on Substack that the outlet killed her cartoon of Bezos and others kneeling before a Trump statue over its commentary’s point of view, a first for her since starting there in 2008. She writes:

...my job is to hold powerful people and institutions accountable. For the first time, my editor prevented me from doing that critical job. So I have decided to leave the Post.

Post opinions editor David Shipley disagreed, blaming his decision on recent and scheduled Post coverage of the same subject and a “bias ... against repetition,” according to The New York Times.

Elon Musk says X’s algorithm pushes “too much negativity.”

Musk posted last night that the platform’s algorithm will soon “promote more informational/entertaining content” in order to “maximize unregretted user-seconds.”

He added in a separate post that X is working on ways to “adjust the content feed dynamically.”

    Venezuela fines TikTok $10 million.

The country’s highest court found that TikTok failed to take “necessary and adequate measures” to stop the spread of viral challenges, which authorities blamed for the death of three adolescents who’d ingested toxic chemicals, reports Voice of America.

The court reportedly gave ByteDance eight days to pay the fine and ordered it to establish a Venezuelan office.
