Carter, the US’ 39th President, died at his home in Plains, Georgia today.
His Presidency was brief but consequential, as his achievements include signing into law the doubling of the National Park Service and the creation of the Department of Energy, as NPR highlights.
The New York Post reports that the President-elect told the outlet he’s “always been in favor of the visas,” which he had heavily restricted and criticized during his first term.
His comments come as Elon Musk has been arguing with — and removing the verification check of — far-right Trump supporters who have been criticizing his and Vivek Ramaswamy’s support of the visas.
During a 2025 strategy session on December 18th, Pichai urged Google’s workers not to become “distracted” by global regulatory scrutiny that he said “comes with our size and success,” reports CNBC.
He said “stakes are high” when it comes to Google’s AI tech in 2025, a year in which it faces potentially heavy regulatory action around the world beyond a possible antitrust breakup in the US.
