The Nikon ZR gets surprisingly close to a real RED camera (for a lot less money)

The DJI Osmo Pocket 4 has cleared the FCC — will we get it before the ban?

As I recently explained, DJI is facing an imminent US import ban — on top of customs scrutiny and tariffs that axed official launches for the Mavic 4 Pro, Mini 5 Pro, and Neo 2 here. But you can find some of those via certain sellers including Amazon and Newegg... maybe the OP4 will slip through too?

Leica’s M EV1 camera has cleared the FCC and is now available in the US.

When Leica announced the new M EV1, its rangefinder-less rangefinder camera, it didn’t go on sale in the US due to FCC delays from the government shutdown. Now, a month later, the $8,995 camera is available in the US today.

DJI’s Osmo Mobile 8 smartphone gimbal is now available outside China.

After launching last month exclusively in China for around $126, DJI’s new Osmo Mobile 8 smartphone stabilizer is getting a wider global rollout, including Europe, where it’s priced at €159, or around $183. Pricing and availability for the US is expected to be announced soon, according to Engadget.

GoPro Max 2 and Insta360 X5 side-by-side comparison

I tried out the GoPro Max 2 camera to compare it directly with the Insta360 X5 and the original GoPro Max 1. The differences in image quality and color sciences didn’t immediately jump out to me like they sometimes do. When the differences feel subtle, I feel like the best way to decide between cameras is to try renting one for a day or two and see which workflow works best for you.

Ring puts a fun twist on the surveillance state with security camera Halloween costumes.

Amazon now sells its new $200 4K Outdoor Cam Pro with your choice of one of five free Halloween camera costumes, or you can 3D print your own. Sticking a camouflaged camera behind your bowl could be a deterrent to candy thieves, but it’s also a creepy way to avoid trick-or-treaters.

The opportunity to sign up for ‘unlimited’ Google Photos storage is over.

Ten years ago, Google ’solved’ our photo backup problems with free unlimited space and some compression... until it didn’t anymore.

T-Mobile’s Google One benefit brought it back in 2022, but as 9to5Google notes, as of September 30th, that offer is gone and seems unlikely to return. We have some ideas if you need alternatives.
