A post on Resetera points out that now, instead of claiming that the Steam Machine is capable of “4K gaming at 60 FPS with FSR,” Valve’s website says that the PC offers “Up to 4k gaming with FSR 4.1.”
In our testing, the Steam Machine struggled to hit 4K/60FPS while using FSR with some titles, so this revised claim seems more realistic.
They were up 3 percent year-over-year from May 2025 to May 2026, according to data shared by Circana analyst Mat Piscatella. Even so, he says that the “overwhelming majority of volume is done digitally now.”
Rockstar’s choice to make GTA VI physical versions a code in the box might mean that even more games are digital-only.
It’s been a bad day for tech and gaming, but you wouldn’t know it from Nintendo — which often goes its own way. At least Star Fox seems good.

After Valve confirmed its Steam Machines all use one 16GB RAM stick, not two 8GB ones, a helpful commenter has explained why.

Nice way to get around having to just sit and wait for an update to download. Microsoft is testing the feature for Xbox Insiders.
In an interview with Gamers Nexus, Valve had said that the PCs would ship with either one 16GB stick of RAM or two 8GB sticks of RAM. “We misspoke here - all units will actually have one 16GB stick of RAM,” the company says in a follow-up statement to the channel. “It’s possible that this might change in future builds, but the units that customers are currently signing up for will all come with one 16GB stick of RAM.”
“I think it’s a little bit less important to have a fixed performance target for 5 years or something for a product like [the Steam Machine],” Valve’s Pierre-Loup Griffais tells PC Gamer. “I don’t think we’re thinking about it with quite as long of a time frame as something like a Steam Deck.” Though it doesn’t sound like there are any near-term plans for a refresh of some kind.
Netflix announced an animated Ghostbusters series several years ago, and it’s finally showing signs of life. The streamer just released the first image for Ghostbusters: Night Shift, which is set in 1994, stars a new group of busters, and is set to premiere some time in 2027.

In addition to the anime series that’s been running for 25 years and its own live-action adaptation, Netflix will premiere its The One Piece anime series in February 2027. While showing off the first trailer (and a trailer for Cyberpunk Edgerunners S2 that will apparently debut on the 29th), Netflix said global anime fandom on the service grew to 1.5 billion views in 2025.
(Update: Added date for Edgerunners S2 trailer.)
The Hill family continue to get into all kinds of modern-day shenanigans in the new trailer for King of the Hill’s 15th season. That includes Bobby and Connie becoming official through a Facebook update, and Hank feeling uncomfortable around an electric truck. Maybe he’d prefer a Slate.

Unfortunately, it’s not Spinball-themed, but it looks fun all the same.
Over the weekend, the DoorDash X account posted repeatedly about the World Cup, but instead of tagging New Zealand soccer player Tim Payne, the account tagged musician T-Pain — who responded accordingly. The posts had no indication that they were an ad (as the Federal Trade Commission requires).
I asked DoorDash if this was a coordinated effort and whether T-Pain was paid for his posts. Head of social Zaria Parvez said in an email that the company noticed Payne was a fan favorite and happened to share a nearly identical name with T-Pain. “So, in partnership with T-Pain, we executed a fun campaign to connect fans from around the world and remind people that DoorDash has whatever they need throughout the World Cup.”
One way that Sony Pictures’ Klara and the Sun (due in theaters on October 23rd) sticks out among the crowded field of dystopian AI companion flicks is that it’s an adaptation of a book from Never Let Me Go author Kazuo Ishiguro. Waititi is writing the screenplay and directing, with a cast including Natasha Lyonne, Amy Adams, and Steve Buscemi.
According to Aftermath’s Chris Person, Valve pointed to the Steam Deck’s recent price increase as an indicator. Following those changes, the PC handheld costs $789 for the 512GB version and $949 for the 1TB version. The Steam Machine, on the other hand, starts at $1,049.

It’s one of a few new tidbits in a splashy Entertainment Weekly profile about Xbox, which comes at a curious time for Microsoft’s gaming division with troubles including looming layoffs and studio closures.

The family-friendly Nex Playground game console is available in the UK and Ireland today, but perhaps the bigger news is “a unique BTS-branded music experience” that’s launching on the device later this year.
“I hope u have the life u deserve,” is just vicious.
According to Variety, she posted a story dismissing AI-supporting musicians after taking to Instagram earlier to claim that 238 of her songs appeared in AI training data, likely referring to the searchable database posted by Atlantic.

The latest installment in the Pixar franchise raked in $160 million over the weekend, besting The Super Mario Galaxy Movie’s $131.7 million. It’s also the second largest opening weekend for an animated film ever, only bested by Incredibles 2 and its $182.7 million.
