Elgato’s new Wave:3 MK.2 microphone has a built in EQ and voice tune effects.

The Wave:3 MK.2 microphone is $20 more expensive than the original version at $169.99, but Elgato has upgraded it with a new Wave FX chip that processes digital effects like a compressor and low-cut filter right on the mic. The MK.2’s multifunction dial now also has a glowing interactive ring around it showing audio levels and other feedback while you talk.

Oppo is going Ultra in Europe too.

Not to be outdone by yesterday’s news that the Vivo X300 Ultra will launch in Europe, Oppo has confirmed its Find X9 Ultra will also get the series’ first release outside China. And… that’s all we know, except that it’s coming “later this year.” Will it beat the Find X9 Pro’s excellent 7,500mAh battery?

At $150, the Kindle Paperwhite Kids is a better deal than the standard model.

The latest Paperwhite Kids is down to $149.99 ($30 off) at Amazon and Best Buy, which is its best price since December. The ad-free e-reader is identical to the standard Paperwhite but comes with a cover, a two-year warranty, and six months of Amazon Kids Plus, which includes a library of kid-friendly books and games. The parental controls are optional, too, so it’s a great deal for adults and kids alike.

Chilling effect go brrr…

Jason Lee had this profile killed from an unnamed magazine because he didn’t like being asked a question about Scientology. Defector is publishing it anyway. Are there any cool Gen Xers? Starting to feel like the answer is no.

GrapheneOS and Motorola collaboration could lead to more secure smartphone options.

The privacy and security-focused Android fork currently only has official support for Pixel devices, but that could be changing. Motorola announced on Monday at MWC that it has struck a long-term partnership with the GrapheneOS Foundation to “strengthen smartphone security and collaborate on future devices engineered with GrapheneOS compatibility.”

Today I’m toying with… WALL-E’s ancestor?

It’s the Clear Drop Soft Plastic Compactor, and it’s not exactly adorable. But it’s fun to feed unrecyclable plastic into the machine and have it spit out bricks! Justine and I teamed up for a hybrid report and review of the somewhat flawed creation. You can even see and hear what happens to the bricks.

Four shades of Nothing.

We already knew what the Nothing Phone 4A would look like, including its pretty perfect pink option and new Glyph Bar lighting, but now we’ve seen it in a sharp blue and the inevitable black. We’ll see more, including its Pro sibling, at Nothing’s full launch on Thursday.

Hang on, my cat is calling.

I got a look at a device called PetPhone, which promises two-way connectivity to your pet no matter where you are. The device clips to a collar and includes speakers so your pet can hear your voice when you’re away. The kicker? GlocalMe, the company behind PetPhone, says your pet can call you.

You just have to train them to jump in the air three times in six seconds. Which means your dog could… butt dial you by jumping around too much? I have questions.

Hey 3D artists, do any of you actually want a laptop like this?

One of Lenovo’s MWC 2026 concepts is the Yoga Book Pro 3D, a chonky dual-screen laptop with glasses-free 3D. You can see models in 3D, control them via hand tracking, and drop custom tools on the lower screen with specialized cutouts.

Check out our hands-on video. Is this concept cool, weird, or something else?

Here comes another gaming laptop built around integrated graphics.

Lenovo’s 15-inch Legion 7A is its first with an AMD Strix Halo APU. The 7A will charge via 180W USB-C and be configurable with a gaming-focused Ryzen AI Max Plus 392.

It launches in July from $2,299, competing with Asus’ upcoming TUF Gaming A14. Remember, integrated graphics are good now.

The display will be a 15.3-inch OLED with 2560 x 1600 resolution and 165Hz variable refresh rate, rated for 500 nits of brightness.
On the right are one USB4, one USB-A 3.2, an SD card slot, and a webcam kill switch.
On the left are one USB4, one USB-C 3.2, one USB-A 3.2, a 3.5mm audio jack, and HDMI 2.1.
The Legion 7A will be configurable with up to 2TB of storage and 64GB of RAM.

We finally saw the Robot Phone move.

Honor’s gimbal-equipped smartphone is here at MWC, and unlike at CES, it’s actually turned on. I got to see the phone unfold, look around, and dance to Imagine Dragons, and Honor has promised me I should see a few new demos on its booth tomorrow.

Hands-on with the Magic V6.

Honor’s new foldable is the thinnest one yet (though only just), but packs a bigger battery than any before. Here are a few of my first impressions from playing around with the upcoming phone.

The Robot Lanyard.

Honor’s press pass for its MWC press conference is a cute tease for the planned reveal of more details on the Robot Phone. Less cute? The pre-recorded applause being piped through the auditorium at regular intervals.

This is Xiaomi and Leica’s new Leitzphone.

I just reviewed the Leitzphone, a special edition of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra with a load of Leica twists: a refreshed industrial design including the iconic red dot, Leica-tweaked software, and a novel rotating camera ring that can control zoom and more. Thanks to great haptics, it’s also a top-tier fidget spinner.

Xiaomi’s super-slim power bank costs extra in orange.

The Xiaomi UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank 5000 is just 6mm thin thanks to its silicon-carbon battery, and only weighs 98g. It’s €59.99 (about $70) in Europe, but there’s a €5 premium if you want it in iPhone orange.

In fairness, orange has always been Xiaomi’s logo color.
