Lenovo’s Project Swan has a screen that literally unrolls. The prototype could use better speakers and some weight balancing, but I love watching it in motion!

Remember Frore and its fan-replacing AirJet cooling tech? Sure looks like Lenovo is taking it seriously!

Following the standalone Magic Drawing Pad from 2024, XP-Pen is now launching the Android 16-based Magic Pro 13 next month to tempt creatives away from sketching on iPads. The price hasn’t been announced yet, but it features a 3096 x 2064 resolution LCD display, with 100 percent sRGB coverage, 650-nit brightness, and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.

And they won’t be making more, meaning there won’t be a way to add Z-Wave devices to a SmartThings smart home. Aeotec, which makes both hubs for Samsung, told me they have about 10,000 left, which may last through the end of the year. Samsung discontinued the V3 last year and replaced it with the Smart Home Hub 2, which has twice the performance, but doesn’t support Z-Wave.

The fiercely open-source smart home platform had its first-ever booth at IFA this week and, true to form, didn’t pull any punches.

Along with the chargers and cables, Belkin showed off matching power banks for its colorful laptop at IFA this week. The UltraCharge Pro 20K Power Bank ($99.95) and BoostCharge Pro Magnetic Power Bank 5K ($59.95) in matching Neo colors are Apple Store exclusives. The entire collection could really cheer up my desk on a dreary Monday morning.

HP is adding to the impending deluge of RTX Spark computers due in October with the OmniBook X 14, OmniBook Ultra 16, and the small form factor OmniDesk. My colleague Dom saw the Ultra among other Nvidia-powered laptops at IFA, but we still don’t know any prices.

We haven’t had the chance to try it on our own pearly whites yet, but The Verge’s Jennifer Pattison Tuohy got a brief hands-on with Dyson’s new camera-equipped electric toothbrush at IFA 2026 where the company had a set of simulated teeth for taking the brush for a test drive.

Only one of them switched on, and apparently it wasn’t even meant to, so I’ve got no deep performance insights about the first laptops powered by Nvidia’s RTX Spark chip. But Dell, Lenovo, MSI, Asus, HP, and Microsoft are all on board with hardware already — hopefully we’ll get the details on them all before too long.

The Luna Pro is already out in China. We’re still waiting for a US launch, but it was on the company’s stand at IFA so I had a play. It’s single-lens, but can use the 8K sensor to capture 4K footage either landscape or portrait, and has the Ultra’s detachable display too.

The flagship Deebot X12S Omnicyclone comes with a “FocusJet” that sprays cleaning solution on dried-on stains before scrubbing, and a dust-mite chamber that pushes down into the pile to create a seal while vacuuming. There’s also a privacy shield to cover the robovac’s built-in camera.

The Explorer 2000 Plus v2 packs a 2kWh LFP battery and features a Storm Warning Function to automatically pre-charge ahead of severe weather, and an emergency reserve mode to ensure there’s always power available in case of disaster. It supports 800W of maximum solar input, 3600W of AC output, and up to 12kWh of battery expansion capacity. It launches on September 29th for $1,199, alongside a few other Jackery x Red Cross models. The Nurovi range features a robot mop with spinning pads, a vacuum-only option, and an upgraded version of its Spot+Scrub AI, which adds UV detection and comes in white. Nurovi supposedly stands for “neural intelligence” combined with a camera-based vision system, which makes the robots better at navigation than prior models — based on limited demos I saw at IFA in Berlin. All three robots go on sale this month.

The wireless OMVI 2i Ultra camera also has a built-in 6W solar panel that can keep the camera charged in 30 minutes of daily sunlight. It comes with an 8-megapixel wide-view camera that offers a fixed view of your yard, while a 5-megapixel pan-tilt camera can track and zoom in on activity.

In line with its pivot into wellness tech, Nanoleaf has launched a wraparound LED light therapy mask for your neck, which the company claims “is designed to reach deeper layers of the skin and support faster skin cell renewal.” It offers seven lighting modes and near-infrared wavelengths up to 1072nm.

In addition to improved AI capabilities that are better at understanding and translating longer multilingual conversations, Timekettle’s new $379 W4 Plus earbuds can translate videos from YouTube, Netflix, and other platforms while you’re wearing just one of the buds. Last year’s W4 required you to wear both, with one playing the original audio while the other played the translation.

I am largely uninterested in Android tablets these days — and yet! This just-announced Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2 surprised me in person. Magnetically snaps right onto this “OneStep” keyboard frame, surprisingly excellent typing with 1.5mm key travel, firm non-slip leatherette base. Doesn’t open one-handed, though, and I’d like it better with a carry handle.

The $53 Open Sport 2’s semi-in-ear, open-ear design is sleeker than the $80 Open Sport, with a thinner capsule while keeping the ear hooks. They’re IP55 rated, have nearly twice the battery life as the Open Sport — JLab claims over 44 hours — and will be available later this year.

Remember the company’s first Android phone with magnetic wireless charging? The Edge 70 Max didn’t launch in the US, and so the new 25W Moto Snap Qi2 puck won’t either, though it’s £39.99 / €39.99 (about $50) in Europe. The Android Qi2 rollout continues at glacial pace.

35 crystals have once again been “hand-positioned” in the flip phone’s body, with a larger 32-facet crystal on the hinge, all finished with a quilted, leather-inspired texture in Pantone’s “Meteorite” color. It launches September 10th for $899.99, a $100 premium over the regular Razr — but what says luxury like Swarovski-studded quilted pleather?

The autofocusing and keystone-correcting projector I enjoyed last year is now twice as bright (200 ANSI lumens) with a bump to 1080p. It supports AirPlay, Google Cast, and “an industry-first Type-C direct projection for Nintendo Switch.” The Zip Pro is notably larger, lasts up to 2.5 hours off battery, supports Bluetooth audio when its itty-bitty stereo speakers won’t do, and can be preordered for $579.99 — nearly double the cost of the original 720p model. Dyson showed off its CameraJet toothbrush in Berlin, Germany, today, at what was quite the event for a dental hygiene product.

The company’s handheld HushJet Mini Cool fan looked like a lamprey eel, but its new air purifiers are trading Dyson’s iconic bladeless rings for a design reminiscent of Dune’s sandworms. That nozzle is engineered to increase airflow and reduce noise from Dyson’s three new HushJet models that will range in price from $599 to $1,099 later this year.
