GE Lighting is launching smart shades at CES that come in at a pretty reasonable (for motorized shades, at least) $299.99. They’re not the cheapest smart shades out there. SwitchBot’s start at just $199, but they’re still quite a bit more affordable than Lutron’s, which start at $399. They should look pretty sleek, too, since they hide all their mounting hardware.

The new GE shades come in white or gray with silver trim and offer either light filtering or full blackout options. If you’re worried about integrating them into your current smart home setup, they support Matter, so compatibility shouldn’t be too much of an issue if you’ve got a modern smart home hub. But if you’ve got older gear you can’t be bothered to upgrade, don’t worry, GE includes a remote in the box.
